My Experience

I am 23 years old and am currently studying Primary Education at the University of

Roehampton. I have worked in EYFS setting in a school in Putney, and a year 2 class in a Southfields primary school. throughout these experiences, i have managed a class, using effective behavior management, planned beneficial lessons, and referred to Ofsted and the national curriculum.
Before this, I was employed by Nower Care Home, as a carer working as
a Health Care Assistant. Based in Dorking, I provide personal care to the 25
residents that we look after, ensuring dignity and respect throughout.
Furthermore, I have built a relationship with the residents, getting to know their
interests and life stories. I love my job because it is rewarding when you help
people out and put a smile on their faces. We also provide meals for them, do
activities with them, make sure their rooms are today, and complete personal care
such as getting certain residents washed and dressed in the morning, giving them
showers, and toiletings. them. In the care home, we have residents who have been
diagnosed with dementia, so I have experienced in that field. Working throughout
the coronavirus pandemic was challenging yet rewarding when you know you are
protecting the residents and making sure they feel safe and content, even when
they couldn’t see their loved ones for a long period of time. I love working with
people and making sure they are satisfied in there booking, which is very
rewarding.
In the school holidays, I am a group leader and Planet Education, which is a holiday camp for children aged 4-13. I planned activities, met the individual needs of all children, and demonstrated good organization and working well under pressure. I have undertook a leadership course at the current holiday camp i work at, and am trained to assist children with type 1 diabetes, including administering insulin. Finally, i was awarded staff member of the week at the summer camp i work at, due to going above and beyond in my job with my responsibilities, approachability towards the children, and my innovative thinking.
