About Me
I have worked with children for years and enjoy creating a fun, caring environment for them to enjoy their childhood in. I grew up on a farm and love the countryside and spending time outside gardening or going on walks. I also love arts and crafts and have done creative volunteer work with children. One of my favourite pass times is reading, reading with a child improves their social and intellectual health.
My Experience
I have experience working in education settings with children from 2 years to 12 years old. I also have experience working with children who have SEN, such as autism, and am currently learning and practicing Makaton. For a year I homeschooled a child in English and Maths. We would also do creative play, such as making play-dough, then using it to form letters and numbers. During lockdown I made a sensory diary with this particular child, it was so rewarding to see her grow as a character and take pride in her work.
I have Level 5 diplomas in child psychology and health care, which includes first aid. I have also passed my grade 8 flute exam and can offer lessons in flute and piano.
