My Summary

My Experience

I started volunteering when I was 16 in October of 2019 and started paid work when I turned 17 on 01/08/2020. Due to the nature of the work you had to be 17 to work there. I worked between 9 - 18 hours a week depending on whether it was an after school session. I would look after the children accessing the centre whether that was 1 - 2 -1 or I had 3 children. And they could be any ages from 5 - 18. The number of children that I had depended on their needs and the level of support they needed. I worked with young people with Autism, Cerebral palsy, Fragile x, complex medical conditions such as CDG, Epilepsy and other additional needs. I had a multitude of responsibilities such as encouraging positive play, recreational and social experiences, supporting their social and emotional needs, choosing appropriate activities such as cooking or swimming, cooking, cleaning, attending to personal needs such as toileting and changing. I would have to juggle many different responsibilities sometimes at the same time. I would personally say my biggest responsibility was attending to the children's needs and allowing them to have fun in a safe and secure way. I have many years experience babysitting and being around children especially those who have addition needs. I am also a Special needs nanny a few hours a week.

My Qualifications

I have got my safeguard training level 3 with seizure awareness, hoist lifting and have began my PEG feeding training.

I have obtained grades 5-7 in my GCSE's and recently finished my A Levels in History, Business studies, and English Literature obtaining grades C, C, B.
