About Me
My name is Lauren and I have been working with children for the past 3 years. I acquired my Level 3 Early years qualification and during this time grew a passion in working with children.
I am very fun, outgoing and creative and love creating fun and academic activities for children to enjoy which link to their learning, development and interests.
I would love to be able to take the child/children out for days out such as the farm, park, classes and shopping etc. I am also very happy to help with housekeeping and cooking as I like to keep busy during the day.
My Experience
I worked at a Nursery for 2.5 years where I completed an apprenticeship to acquire my Level 3 Early educators qualification. During this, I learnt all about children, their care and development in regards to newborn babies up to 7 year olds.
During this time, I created and planned many activities which linked to the children’s development, learning and interests. These would range from activities inside, outside and on trips out of the setting.
In addition, I often prepared meals for the children as well as kept up with keeping the space clean and organised during play however, also allowing children to explore whatever they want whilst keeping them safe.
During my time at the nursery, I did lots of research into different theoretical perspectives such as the montessori approach. In addition, I completed many training courses in regards to caring for children. I have also acquired my Paediatric First aid which is valid until July 2023. In addition, I also am DBS checked and have a valid DBS.
My Qualifications
I attended Peter Symonds College where I first started researching into working with children during my Health and Social care class. I completed my Level 2 Health and Social care with a Distinction*Distinction*. During this time I also studied Law and Communication and Culture.
After college, I went to work at a Nursery for 2.5 years where I completed my Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification with a Distinction. During this time, I had hands on experience with working in a childcare environment and gained lots of confidence. I completed many training courses such as safeguarding, good hygiene and children's mental health. I have also gained my Level 2 in Understanding Autism and have worked alongside children with additional needs.
I am now starting my MSci in Speech and Language Therapy.
My Availability
I am starting my degree in Speech and Language Therapy at Reading University and looking for some part time work for babysitting/nannying whilst I live in Reading during term time. I currently don’t have my schedule yet but will be getting it week commencing 18/09.
