About Me
My name is Natalie. I live with my husband and my two children: my son aged nine, and my daughter aged three.
We live in Burgess Hill. We are close to parks, a short walking distance to the centre of town, and a ten minute walk to the Gattons Primary School. We have a play room and a downstairs bathroom that are dedicated to childminding.
We have a very large secure garden with grass and an astroturf area. This is where we enjoy sand play, and a variety of sensory and messy plays. There is also lots of room for scooting fun!
We also enjoy lots of music and singing in our house. Away from childminding I perform locally for many different charities and events.
I offer a home environment that is founded on my beliefs. I have a lot of previous experience in supporting children’s emotional well-being, and in providing learning through the principles of child-led play.
I continue to focus on this with a variety of sensory and messy play at home, and on delivering key learning areas within the EYFS. These are the foundations for expressing our own ideas, wishes and feelings, and remain crucial for developing self-esteem and emotional resilience.
We enjoy regular outings and use lots of local resources, such as the library and the Triangle leisure centre. I also have good links with another local childminder - and really enjoy buddying up for fun local outings to Wakehurst Place, garden centres and parks. We also enjoy lots of messy play activities together, and create lots of opportunities for the little ones to make friends. I also have a season ticket for Washbrooks Farm and we enjoy regular outings there as well.
My Experience
I am a newly registered childminder with a national agency. Prior to becoming a childminder I worked as a Social Worker with Children and Families for 17 years.
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work, and worked in the field until early 2022 when my Intervention Service team was dispersed. This team focussed on specialised interventions around relationship building, parenting support and play work.
From this I am accredited in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) which promotes child and parent relationships through video and play. I am also trained in child-led play techniques through Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT.)
I also have earlier experience as a Nursery Assistant within Sure Start. I have gained lots of childcare experience, including as a pre-school volunteer and caring for my own two children aged nine and three.
My Qualifications
The childminding agency I am registered with provides the benefit of ongoing support and training. My qualifications around this include:
• Registered childminder with Ofsted registered childminding agency, October 2022
• Paediatric first aid training course March 2022
• Video Interaction Guidance accreditation December 2018.
• Masters in social work gained in 2005
My Availability
I'm afraid I currently have no availability in my setting.
My opening hours are 7.30 am- 6pm Monday to Wednesday and Thursdays up until 1.30 pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.20 per hour
My rates are £6.20 an hour. This will include lunch, snacks and a home cooked early evening meal for children.
