About Me
I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher, specialising in Early Years and KS1. I had been teaching year 1 for a few years and due to personal circumstances have now left the classroom.
I am very passionate about working with children and fostering a love of learning through well thought out activities and learning through play.
Throughout my teaching career and before, I have done part-time babysitting and looked after children from ages 1-11. When spending time with children, I enjoy fostering a love of learning through reading together, playing educational games and encouraging creative writing by focusing on the child’s interests.
I am happy to offer my tutoring services whilst looking after your children too and I am happy to tutor in phonics, reading, English and early maths. Please let me know if this is a requirement and we can discuss further.
I can also offer tutoring as a stand alone service both online or locally.
At the moment I have some availability until mid/end of May then will be available again 9/10 months after that, so please get in touch and I’ll be happy to make arrangements based on your child’s needs.
My Experience
Qualified primary school teacher, teaching a year 1 class for the last few years. Daily teaching of phonics, reading, English and maths. Weekly lessons include science, history, geography, PE, art, DT, RE, PSHE and computing. Fully experienced in planning and delivering the year 1 curriculum.
Experience of teaching reception and familiar with early learning goals as well as continuous provision and promoting learning through play.
Prior volunteering in primary schools and supply TA work as well as some occasional work in nursery settings.
Babysitting experience of ages 1-11.
My Qualifications
PGCE in Primary Education - Early Years Specialism.
Sociology Degree
BTEC Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
Safeguarding trained
