About Me
My name is Abi, I am a fun, friendly and caring 29 year old psychology graduate, working as a mental health and well-being practitioner with children aged 5-20. I have previously been a learning support assistant . I aspire to be an educational psychologist one day. I have Asperger’s syndrome, an autistic spectrum disorder which has always given me a passion to help both atypical and neurotypical children thrive, and I always give a little extra patience to enable them to be the best they can be. I am a determined, passionate individual who thrives to achieve whatever I put my mind too. I love cooking, crafts and playing games and have always enjoyed finding new ways to engage children and miffed them fun in an educational manner. My friends and colleagues would describe me as a friendly, caring, and self-motivated person who goes above and beyond in both personal goals and work based tasks. Not only am I skilled in planning fun and engaging activities both educational and not, I am also experienced in using my initiative to adapt activities to meet children’s specific needs and requirements.
My Experience
I have extensive experience working in primary schools both voluntarily in a year 1 class prior to the pandemic and then for the last 2 years in a mainstream school as a SEN learning support assistant. I have experience working with various children with SEN needs including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, Williams syndrome, ADHD and epilepsy among other SENs. I. I currently work as a mental health and well-being practitioner offering children and young people therapeutic and creative interventions to support children with emotionally based school avoidance. In addition to my professional experience I also have ample experience babysitting family and friends children ( ages 2-13), as well as entertaining my cousins children with seasonal craft sessions during the school holidays. I also have experience in conducting SEN interventions, assisting primary children (years 1-5) with homework and tutoring a year 2 child in phonics, spelling, reading and maths, however I am NOT a qualified tutor.
My Qualifications
I have a 1st honours degree in psychology. A levels in psychology and health and social care. level 2 NCFE mental health in children short course.
I have completed training in safeguarding, first aid, team teach, epilepsy training, basic feeding tube training ( mini) among other courses relevant to working with children.
My Availability
I am based in alton. I can offer adhoc evenings (after 5pm if local) or weekends as well as holiday babysitting or homework supoort and/or tutoring. I do not wish to commit to permanent hours.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.50 per hour
Rates are dependent on hours required, distance from me and needs of the child(ren) - please contact to discuss. I charge £17.50 per hour when past midnight.
