About Me
I believe it is important to approach every child with vigilance, delicacy and care, as these are their formative years which will set the foundation for the rest of their lives. It inspires me to see how much a child can grow in the span of a few months. I love working with kids because it gives me the opportunity to learn about life from them. The elderly and children have always had a profound gift in reminding me of the cyclical nature of life on earth and how much wisdom there is in simplicity and living in the moment.
I have 8+ years of experience supporting children of all ages in various roles, including as a nanny, teaching assistant, babysitter and childminder. I have lots of experience with bathtime, bedtime, school pick-ups using public transport and preparing meals.
My Experience
I have experience working as a nanny, babysitter, childminder and teaching assistant at a school. All of my childcare experiences have been with children between newborn age to fourteen years of age.
I have learnt that introducing children to creative experiences, as well as guiding them to find solutions to their own problems, is critical for their cognitive development, fine and gross motor skills, and overall well-being.
I consciously implement the Montessori Method when I work with children because I believe it will develop their thinking skills and promote a positive attitude towards learning.
Nurturing creativity and a sense of self-worth is particularly important to me when working with children. I do this by allowing for unstructured playtime, experimentation and making room for mistakes.
I foster empathy by teaching them about how others may feel in different situations. I do this by engaging in things like sharing, volunteering and attentive listening.
My Qualifications
I am fully vetted - DBS Certified on the update service, Paediatric First Aid Trained, Safeguarding educated and I have a good understanding of the EYFs as well as the Montessori Method.
My Availability
I am looking for full time work.
Ideally Monday to Friday, 9-5.
