About Me
My name is Rachel and I'm a 19 year old student in Chessington. I’m currently completing my second and last year in a Level 3 Course in Childcare and Education. I absolutely love working with children and getting to know their unique selves. I was interested in babysitting initially because it includes both my passions and my interests for my career in the future (which is to become a child psychologist). It's also because I needed a flexible job that fits in with my schedule as a student and babysitting seems more than perfect! I would be more than happy to help your child with homework, any struggles they may be experiencing in school (if they are in school) and plan a variety of activities to boost their development. I've learnt a lot from studying in my course about strategies to help and support children throughout all their areas of development.
My Experience
I am currently undergoing a placement at a primary school (started September 2023). I absolutely love spending time with children, talking to them, getting to know them and building a positive relationship with them based off trust and care. In September 2022 to August 2023, I worked at a daycare nursery as a part of my placement and have spent time in all areas of the nursery including babies (0-2 years), toddlers (2-3 years) and preschoolers (3-4 years), nursery and reception. A few years ago, I worked at a Kumon and loved helping children and making progress with their work. I worked with children aged 5-12 years. I am currently also a dog sitter, which I have been for just under two years - I love this job a lot and have got my own Labrador; if you have any pets I would be more than happy to also look after them.
My Qualifications
GCSEs: Mathematics (8), Combined Science Trilogy Higher (9,9), English Lit. (8), English Lang. (6).
I am currently completing a Level 3 Course in Childcare and Education at Kingston College.
My Availability
Since I have college, I am available in the late afternoons/ evenings Monday to Thursday and available for the whole day Fridays to Sundays.
