About Me
My name is Urwah Khan. I am 18 years old and a student at the University of Birmingham. The course I am undertaking is Psychology in Education BSc where I will learn skills to connect people’s minds to the education system and the various different methods of learning. My career aspiration is to become an educational psychologist or a clinical psychologist. I am applying for a job to babysit and take care of children because I am naturally nurturing and have experience with children and new-borns. I have an Enhanced DBS check for both children and adults. I am an expert in cleaning and making sure that the environment is safe for the children so that they are safe and well. I like to play and vocalise with them as it is scientifically proven that it helps with a child's development.
My Experience
1) Clinical Workshop, Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College:
This clinical workshop was part of my studies in a Level 3 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care. Over the course of a week, I was given CPR training, blood-pressure monitoring and how to analyse situations of distress with a patient. This allowed me to gain insight on the situations that may arise in Healthcare fields and my knowledge of clinical skills prepares me for a future career in the healthcare industry.
2) Private carer
Help with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping for them and taking them outside. This allowed me to develop skills for caring. Caring for them motivated me to take an Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care BTEC.
3) Tutor for English, Tutorface
Tutor for English and teaching SATs and GCSE students to achieve top grades and this is part-time.
4) St John Ambulance NHS Cadets Team, Birmingham
As a youth team member, I helped create a safe, inclusive and open environment where young people can learn important life skills to prepare them for health volunteering. Also, I planned and delivered sessions and supported young people to develop and grow.
