About Me
My name is Sydney and I am a 23-year-old American international student living in Chester. I'm doing a BSc in Zoo Management with the intention of going into conservation education working with children! I love everything to do with animals and the outdoors. :)
My Experience
From the end of 2019 to the summer of 2021 when I moved to the UK for university. I worked full-time as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a school-age center. I mainly worked with children aged 5-12 and occasionally with younger children, but I am comfortable working with all ages. My primary duties were writing educational but fun lesson plans to carry out with the kids, which included making birdhouses out of milk cartons and decorating them with items we found outside like moss and bark. During the height of Covid, I worked with several children who could not be at home while school was online. I acted as a tutor for ages 5-12 in all subjects.
My Qualifications
At my old job, I have gotten first aid certified, but I have not become certified in the UK as of yet. (I have had an American one)
