Hello my name is Georgia, I am a 25 year old graduate from Heaton Moor, Stockport, with 10 years of babysitting and childcare experience.
Having grown up around lots of younger family members I naturally foster a warm, supportive environment that enables children to express themselves and be creative and independent, while also ensuring that they play safely.
I am a keen musician; I play both grade 7 flute and piano. Other interests include running, tennis, art and yoga.
I have recently returned from Sydney, Australia, where I lived and worked for the past year and I would love to help out with any childminding/babysitting roles you may have, this can also include providing support with homework. I am happy to take on a regular role or just a one-off if you fancy a pub trip and need someone for a couple of hours!
Please note I am only temporarily available due to a return to Australia in early August 2023. However, up until that point I can begin work as soon as you require.
My Experience
- 10 years of babysitting roles around the local Stockport area, including experience with autism, mobility issues.
- 2 years in the post of Education Assistant at Newcastle University Business School (2020-2022). A focal element of the job focused on student support and one to one meetings with undergraduate students when they were stressed about academic studies. I received comprehensive safeguarding training allowing me to competently assess a student's wellbeing to distinguish between a signpost v safeguard follow up.
- 2 years working as a Senior Mentor on the National Citizenship Service (NCS) programme (2017-2019). In this role I was responsible for managing the development and welfare of a group of twelve 15-17 year olds over a four week period, including a two week residential. I led a variety of activity sessions (centred around topics not limited to: self-confidence, endurance, social action) and oversaw the health and behaviour of the group and their completion of the programme. A high level of professionalism was required while working with other members of staff as well as the young people to ensure that the latter were all engaged and included.
- 4 months teaching in Togo, West Africa while living with a local host family (January-April 2016). Taught three weekly English classes with children ranging from ages 7-12.
- 1 year as a Young Leader at Beaver Scouts UK (2014-2015) leading and supervising activities at the weekly meetings, pastoral care, completion of badges, teaching piano. Child age range from 6 - 8 years old.
