My first year I taught in Whiteinch Primary School and successfully implemented a phonics programme to raise attainment and close the poverty related vocabulary gap. My second year of teaching I undertook a secondment to the secondary school sector to set up and lead a literacy recovery hub for children of high school age with early level literacy.
