About Me

I am a Montessori teacher with 8 years experience. I am passionate about nurturing individual growth, development and education at the childs own pace . I pride myself on providing gentle, loving care to each and every child I work with.
The majority of my experience is working with children from two and a half to six years old. I have experience in creating safe, stimulating environments and routines where children can explore, make choices, and develop independence.

With my extensive experience, dedication to Montessori principles, and passion for nurturing children's growth and development, I am eager to transition into a nannying role. Guiding the development of one or two children with personalised attention and support, I am confident in utilising my skills, BSc (Hons) in Childhood Development, and commitment to children's well-being to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

My Experience

I am an experienced Montessori practitioner with a diverse background in childcare and education, encompassing various roles and accomplishments:

Montessori School Assisting Teacher (Current Role):

After working in a management role in my previous job, I decided that I wanted to be back in the classroom, making a direct impact with children. Currently, I am working as the assisting teacher at a private Montessori School in the 3-6 class. My role involves implementing AMI Montessori principles, practice and lessons. I deliver lessons on sandpaper letters, phono-grammes, sandpaper numbers, and practical life activities, utilising my in-depth knowledge of materials and presentations to support children in making their activity choices and completing their work.
I conduct small group sessions for sound games and grace and courtesy lessons, as well as leading circle times and actively participate in planning and organising afternoon activities such as art and PE. Additionally, I contribute to the children's literacy development by reading to them, listening to their reading, and delivering the Talk for Writing literacy development method. My classroom management style is freedom within boundaries in order to create a peaceful, kind and independent community amongst the children.

Montessori Training Manager (2021-2022):

As a Montessori Training Manager, I developed strong management skills, working one-on-one with class teachers across four settings to improve practice and enhance the quality of care, education, and learning environments.
I conducted classroom observations to ensure children received the best possible care and educational experiences.
I led weekly staff meetings and delivered presentations to up to 20 staff members, fostering collaboration and professional development.
I shared expertise on Montessori principles and curriculum areas, enriching staff members' understanding and implementation.

Montessori Room Leader (3-5) Green Giraffe Day Nursery (2018-2022):

I successfully led a class of thirty children, providing them with gentle, loving care and fostering independence through encouragement and freedom of choice.
I led a team of 6 practitioners, offering comprehensive training on observing, lesson planning, and utilizing Montessori tools such as the My Montessori Child APP.
I developed an online database of valuable Montessori resources, ideas, and learning materials for implementation across four different settings.
I designed and maintained a well-structured classroom layout that promoted a calm and nurturing environment aligned with Montessori curriculum guidelines, children's interests, and developmental needs.
Additionally, I created engaging and stimulating daily routines that facilitate active learning and exploration.
I collaborated with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop effective play and behavioral plans tailored to each child's specific requirements.

Play Worker: Play Cwtsh LTD (2015):

I contributed to a team as a play worker, engaging children in recreational activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Teaching Assistant: Saint David School (Private English/Spanish school in the Dominican Republic) 2014:

I assisted the class teachers by providing educational support to students, aiding in their academic progress and fostering a positive learning environment. I also worked one-on-one with students with additional needs and led literacy focus groups.

Hereford Steiner Academy (Volunteer position) 2014:

I collaborated with Steiner educators in implementing the holistic Steiner education approach, focusing on the development of children's artistic, practical, and intellectual skills.
