My Summary

My Experience

I have worked with children for 13 years in various settings. For the last 2 years, I have been a full time nanny to two children who are now 4 and 2 years old. In this role I have had full care for the children, including preparing nutritious meals, planing age appropriate activities, supervising play and collecting the children from nursery. I have cared for the youngest from 6 months old and therefore have hands on experience of the day to day care of a baby. This role also included taking care of child related house keeping and looking after 2 dogs.

Previously, I have worked with children with brain injuries and additional needs in their homes and in nursery/school settings as a support assistant. I then later trained as a teaching assistant which broadened my experience of working with neurodivergent children including those with autism, ADD/ADHD, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and mental health issues. As a teaching assistant, I became interested in child development and honed my nurturing skills which allowed me build positive, trusting relationships with the children I supported. I quickly identified the importance of giving children a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive and become independent young people.

During my teacher training my patient nature allowed me to develop skills in managing behaviour but also understand the importance of communication when working with children of any age. Whilst working in secondary schools I was often praised by leadership for the calm environment in my classroom and my ability to engage the students with well organised and planned lessons. I became passionate about enabling the individual students in my tutor group to become confident and motivated young people through supporting their physical and emotional well-being and teaching them respect for diversity. Through teaching I developed my ability to think on my feet, for example, quickly adapting lessons or supporting outside of the classroom.

I hold an up to date DBS check along with a full, clean driving licence.

• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)

Nanny fees £15 per hour
Private one-to-one tuition rates start at £20 per hour - some equipment provided.
