About Me
I am an outgoing, adventurous, motivated second year going into third year Theology undergraduate student at Durham University, looking to enrich my work experience during the course of my studies. I am challenge-orientated and will not turn down an opportunity to learn and develop new skills.With prior work experience in hospitality, retail, and education, I have cultivated a strong work ethic, independence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others. Whether as a team leader or a team player, I am responsible and proactive and always eager to take initiative. In my spare time, I indulge in various hobbies that contribute to my well-being and creative expression. These include playing the piano, engaging in arts and crafts such as acrylic painting and wheel pottery which allow me to tap into my creative side. I also find personal fulfilment in practicing meditation and yoga, which help me manage my stress and maintain an inner balance. Although I am from London, I am currently based in Durham City for the course of my studies.
My Experience
With prior experience in childcare and education, I have acquired the fundamental skills required to take care and engage with children. I can be trusted with children and have often been recommended as a babysitter and nanny by friends and family. My work experience with children includes babysitting, and teaching. I have worked at the Melcombe Children Centre in London, where I was allocated a role in primary care responsibility for a small group of children aged 2 to 5 years old. I have also volunteered in primary schools, such as Sacred Heart Primary School in London, helping teachers organise their classrooms and planning activities such as in-group reading sessions. Further, I have experience in teaching and education. During the summer of 2022, I taught English and Maths to a classroom of students aged 11 to 13 years old, in a rural village in Nepal. I have learnt the importance of incorporating engaging activities and interactive learning methods to ensure an immersive learning experience.
My Qualifications
I am working towards my Bachelor's degree at Durham University, studying Theology and Religion. I completed my A-levels in London, and achieved a B in Biology, A in psychology and an A* in Religious studies. I also Completed my GCSEs in London and achieved highly in English, Maths and Sciences.
My Availability
I am available to work Monday to Friday, mornings and evenings, and occasionally on weekends if necessary.
