About Me
My name is Charley and I’m a student at Newcastle University for history. My passion is children. I aim to be a secondary school teacher as soon as I finish my degree, and since every grandparent of mine was a teacher I’m quite excited to get started. My cousin and sister were the first victims of my relentless ‘class times’ and since then it’s all I want to do. I’ve worked at summer schools, I’ve worked at after-school clubs and I’ve been to Kenya to teach children in impoverished schools. It’s all I want to do.
My Experience
I worked in Kenya volunteering at schools for 2 1/2 weeks, usually taking the responsibilities of the classroom when the teachers needed time to mark or teach other classes. Back in London, I worked at after-school clubs, in which I got my first aid certificate, food and hygiene certificate, safeguarding, and anti-grooming certificate. In this job, I learned the professional aspects of childcare; cooking, sympathy and understanding while making sure that rules are in place. I worked this job for 4 hours 3 times a week.
My Qualifications
I have a first aid certificate, food and hygiene certificate, safeguarding, and anti-grooming certificate. I also have a child leadership qualification and have 3 A-levels, and am in my final year of university.
