Hi, my name is Kate! I'm 31 years old and I am looking for a family, in or around Chelmsford, to help with childcare and the everyday running of their household. I also love animals, so am more than happy to assist with their needs too!

I love learning and expanding my horizons in many ways; which led me to live abroad in Myanmar and Portugal, for over five years. I enjoy helping others and I've been involved in volunteer work since 2010. I aim to live a balanced lifestyle, keeping active, getting outdoors and looking after my general well-being. I pride myself on being an honest and trustworthy person who is always willing to work hard and adapt to new or different ways of doing things. This is something I've especially learned from my time abroad. I also love meeting new people and getting to know them. My Experience
I worked as an English Teacher in Yangon, Myanmar for just over three years. So as well as general childcare, I can help with homework tutoring and teaching younger children how to read. I've worked with classes from the ages of 4-14 and I love to learn all of their different personalities and interests. I originally come from a Design and Marketing background, so I like to bring that more creative side when working with children. Managing multiple classes takes a certain amount of organisation, adaptability and proactivity; whilst always allowing time for fun! These assets and experience, I want to bring to a family.
I don't have paid experience of looking after children but I have an energetic, four year-old nephew and an inquisitive, one year-old niece that I regularly look after. Just like the many kids I've taught, I love to be a part of them discovering and developing as they grow up. I'm confident that the varied skillset and experience, I do have, make me more than capable of helping your family in the best way you require.
I am currently in the process of becoming an OFSTED registered nanny. I already have liability insurance, Full Paediatric First Aid and a Basic DBS. My enhanced DBS check is almost complete. (Due to my time living abroad it’s been a slightly more complicated process). I am studying Early Years Childcare (TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (CR)) and will have completed this by December 2023.

My Availability

I'm willing to have a conversation and negotiate on an hourly rate, dependant on how many children there are to care for and the hours the position requires.
