My Experience

I have been working in Childcare for 15+ years I have experience with all ages. In 2020 I worked for a childcare program in Canada called KidsKlub as a support worker for children with autism. following that, I became a manager of my own childcare site for KidsKlub. I was responsible for 20 children ages 4-11 before and after school as well as managing two staff members who reported to me. As the manager, I was the main point of contact with all the parents as well as the teachers. As my site was in the school, I had my own classroom and was responsible for creating the calendar for the month of activities, planning and making healthy snacks, and making sure everyone was looked after. I managed this site until I left for Scotland. I loved this job and it prepared me very well for teaching. After school and moving back to Canada temporarily I nannied for 3 different families. One of the families was a young boy age 7 who was autistic - working with children on the spectrum is a rewarding and enriching experience. It is a lot of work but I have always felt such a connection with these children and wouldn't change anything. I have worked with newborns to teenagers and I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have been a nanny, childcare worker, support worker, childcare manager, and teacher. I can say I have definitely found my calling when it comes to working with children.

Before I started working at KidsKlub I did my undergraduate degree at Royal Roads University where I was elected president of our student association in 2018. As president of the student association, I had many responsibilities including chairing the student council meetings and committees, coordinating activities and events, planning galas and fundraisers, attending conferences while representing my university, and many other things. This role shaped me into a responsible leader who took on many challenges. Leadership has been something I have always enjoyed and believed that I do well with, and as soon as I started my leadership position with children I knew working with children was meant for me.

As a nanny I enjoy taking the children on day adventures. I do not drive but I'm happy to bus. I also love crafts, baking, games, and house cleaning. As a registered teacher, I am also happy to help with homework or tutoring anything I may be needed for.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour

I am willing to discuss my fees with families depending on their needs and the number of children per household.
