About Me

I have been described as a responsible and respectful young adult who is mature for her age. People see me as a caring individual who is full of bubbly and enthusiastic energy. I take pride in caring for my friends and family I am reliable and consistent and when I set my mind to something I always strive to achieve it. I plan to start my degree in mental health nursing in September 2024. After that I would like to
Go back to university to complete a midwifery course.

Growing up my biggest hobby was music and dance, I was apart of my local orchestra, fife opera and stages dance school. Being apart of so many groups taught me a lot of different skills and qualities such as teamwork, communication skills and people skills. This also taught me time management and from a young age taught me how to prioritise important commitments such as performances or training while also keeping up with school work and exams. This taught me a lot about responsibility and commitment from a young age. As well as a background in various musical and dance groups I was also a part of fifes synchronised swimming team and have my open water certificate in scuba diving requiring me to undertake a basic knowledge of first aid.

I also completed higher art in school and have a wide knowledge of various different art mediums. As well as that during my last year of high school I completed my stem ambassadorship where I held different after school clubs focused on getting the younger years interested in maths and other stem subjects. This included tutoring younger individuals in maths and holding different game nights during the club to inspire them to purse stem subjects. To complete my stem ambassadorship I had to undergo a course focused on how to keep the younger children safe and make sure their needs were met, in this course we focused a lot on how to make sure the children in our care always felt safe and comfortable around us when holding these stem clubs.

My Experience

In my childhood and early adolescence my mother took part in rest bite fostering for young individuals in the care system. This meant I was privileged first hand to see the benefits of opening up our home and life to children who thrive from being part of stable household. My mother started her career as a special needs nurse leaving school and then gained her child nursing qualification while working at Children’s Hospice Across Scotland (CHAS), I have always had a strong awareness of children and young adults with special needs and would take part in many organised events at the hospice. As a teenager I volunteered as a befriender for an elderly resident within our neighbourhood this then came part of her individualised care plan. I then went on to volunteer over the summer at the dementia day centre attached to this care home.

I have experience babysitting two young girls (ages 9 and 12) and have a big family i have cared for since a very young age. I have a passion for looking after young individuals and have a vast variety of interests including art and music. I have experience voluntary work in a residential care home where i cared for senior citizens and helped them in their daily tasks and organising activities for them which i thoroughly enjoyed. I also achieved high grades while in school including a stem ambassador award where i tutored the younger years in stem subjects (science technology english maths etc) including activities to get the younger years excited about stem subjects encouraging them to find a passion in them. I would always put your kids needs first and they would be my top priority always.

My Qualifications

I had a very successful high school career gaining highers in multiple subjects including maths and English and have experience tutoring younger students in different subjects. As well as my stem ambassadorship I was also a teachers assistant in my last year of high school for my schools art department. So when I wasn’t studying I would spend some of my free periods in the art department helping teachers with different activities to inspire the younger years with their artwork.

I am currently completing my open learning , level 2 counseling qualification specialising in 'Mental Health in the Workplace’. And have planned to study mental health nursing in Dundee university starting September 2024. From there I would like to work either in psychiatric wards or hospitals. Eventually I would like to go back to university to complete a midwifery course.
