About Me
I am a caring and enthusiastic individual with an undergraduate degree in psychology. I am currently undertaking a postgraduate masters degree in child development at UCL. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages. I have experience working in special educational needs schools with children ages 0-19, respite care home with children with SEN and disabilities as well as experience working in mainstream primary schools. I am passionate and patient and very reliable. Whilst I have interpersonal experience with children of all ages, I also have a theoretical background of child development and know what it takes to work with children. My aim is to complete a PhD in educational psychology so I am very dedicated in working with children. I am an auntie to a wonderful 3 year old niece and 2 year old nephew who I see and care for regularly. I have loved seeing them develop into who they are today with their little personalities shining through. I am easy to get along with and listens to instructions very well. Due to my degree as well as working as a teachers assistant with a child with SEN, my availability will be around those. I have flexible working hours, particularly in the evenings and weekends. So whether you need to go to work, or want to take some well deserved time to treat yourself, or maybe a night with your friends or even a date night ;), I am the one you can rely on!
My Experience
I have experience working within a special educational needs school with children ages 0-19 as a teachers assistant. I also have experience working in a children with SEN and disabilities respite care home as a care assistant. Furthermore, I have experience in mainstream primary schools as a teachers assistant. I have previously helped out with a child with SEN on a 1-1 basis, whereby I took her on days out to farms, lunch, bowling, cinema (and the list goes on), I helped her to get ready for school, took her to school, cooked and fed her dinner and also getting her ready for bed. I also have a lovely relationship with my 3 year old niece and 2 year old nephew who I care for regularly. I took care of them on my own whilst my sister and her husband both went to work from when they were newborns and took care of housekeeping duties.
My Qualifications
I have a bachelors of science degree in psychology. I have DBS checks. Safeguarding training. Moving and handling training. Autism spectrum disorder training. Full UK driving license
My Availability
Due to my commitments with work and university. My availability is pretty flexible in the evenings and weekends. Due to university I am unavailable between 12-6pm on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, due to my work in the school, I am unavailable between 8am-3.15pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
