About Me
Hello! My name is Ella, I am completing my studies and hope to work in children’s psychology. I am the eldest of 7 children in my family and have grown up caring for my siblings in order to gelp my mum.
My Experience
I am the eldest child of 7 children, so I have had experience in caring for children since I was quite young, and helping my mother in any ways I can (eg. cooking, cleaning, taking the children on walks, putting the baby to sleep and much more) I have been babysitting for my neighbours and family friends since I was 15. I have been oversees to volunteer helping babies and children refugees from syria, as well as homeless children in greece. I volunteer at soup kitchens on the weekends twice a month, and I am in a mentoring programme for children aged 7 at my school. These activities have strengthened my communication and understanding of children, and have improved my ability to empathise and interact with young kids. Additionally my youngest sibling has down’s syndrome- Her disability means that I have to be more patient and make sure that I am clear when communicating. These are skills that I have been able to strengthen, all thanks to her.
My Qualifications
I am currently sitting my A Level exams. I have an upcoming first aid course to complete.
