- I am a children's Physiotherapist for the NHS. I work with children ages 6 months to 19 years regularly. The children I work with have physical disabilities and often learning difficulties.
- I worked at Shepherd’s Down Primary School as a Learning Support Assistant. This school is designed for children with a wide range of complex learning needs. Many of the children are non-verbal, which allowed me to improve my communication skills non-verbally using the picture exchange communication system allowing the children to express their needs through symbols. In addition to this, I improved my handling of behavior. I completed my PRICE training which allowed me to respond appropriately to any behavior concerns keeping myself and the children safe.
- I coached a local school's netball and athletics sessions.
- I childminded a young family for 2 years.
- I completed work experience in a mainstream school for 2 weeks.
