My Experience

I would frequently attend my parents children’s nursery after school and during my school holidays, although I was never employed to work there I would go in and help plan and deliver activities with the children as well as supervise during outside play.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Education studies with a plan to complete my teacher training after graduating. With completing my degree during covid i worked as a part time nanny and babysitter for a family with a 1 and 4 year old at the time. I worked with them for around a year and have since babysat on occasion.
At the same time I worked at a local after school club, play games and planning crafts and activities for a range of ages and interests. I would collect children from the infant school and take them over to the club class room.
I left this role to take a job as a teaching assistant at a local school, I spent most of this time in key stage one but would also support in higher years when needed. I enjoyed this role and applied for a place in a teacher training course for the next academic year.
I started this and quickly realised that I didn’t want to teach but still have a desire to work with children and have many skills needed to work within child care.

My Qualifications

I have an undergraduate degree in education.
I have previously been DBS checked because of working in schools and with children, however do not have a current one as my role does not require it
