I am a 28 year old positive thinking writer with an adoration for children.
I live in Clifton in a family home with other children aged 8 and 15, and I have just returned from Thailand after teaching the EYFS (Early years foundation stage) at a British International school, working with and leading a class of 18-22 month year olds who I absolutely adored.
I can provide multiple references in relation to child care, DBS checks and I am trained in safeguarding and handling difficult behaviours.
I am a balance between being introverted and extroverted and in my spare time I love to read, write and soak up the culture around me.
I’m really into cooking, I have a little sister who is 11 who has benefited from my skills and I love to teach others! Here I am happy to introduce friendly play date opportunities. Isla is a gentle, caring sweet young girl.
I like to make domesticated parts of life fun and take pride in making things special. Baking, cooking, bath time, any part of the day that is routine based can be made fun and ultimately the goal is happiness!
I like to take a gentle approach in my child care. I want your children to feel safe, open and free to be themselves. I am liberal in the sense that I believe children are nurtured best through play and friendship, rather than strict regimes. I do not have space for any hates or other bigotries in my life and these are the values I want to pass on to the next generation.
My Experience
I have experience in a wide range of care work, including autistic children and those with learning difficulties (2 years). I am safeguard trained and I am also trained in handling difficult behaviour.
I have had 3+ nanny/ au pair jobs, all of which can provide references. I have experience with twins of 18 months, up to two energetic and spritely boys of 8 and 4. My roles included (but not limited to) taking and returning them home from school or day care, preparing meals and doing other household chores, bath time and putting the children to bed.
I have worked with families of varying cultures and I am culturally aware. I am experienced in prepping vegetarian and vegan meals, and I am knowledgable regarding nutrition and other healthy choices for young children relating to screen time and sensory play.
My Qualifications
I hold two degrees (an FdE in visual communication and a BA Honours in Journalism, 2:1) both of which are in relation to my on going dream of being a published writer which I’m currently working on.
I have a level 2 certificate in Understanding Autism, though this was over 9 years ago and I wish to refresh my training.
I have 12 X GCSE’s all of A*-C level including Maths and English, so I’m comfortable in assisting with any complicated homework tasks.
My Availability
I am very flexible at the moment. I am open to full time and part time roles, including occasional babysitting roles and on the weekends.
