EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
January 2024 - present day
T15 Recruitment Agency- I am working at Northumberland Skils in Morpeth and Alnwick on a part time and temporary basis as a Learning Support Assistant. I support different classes throughout the school and also work on a one to one basis with a learner who requires my help building their confidence to enable them to integrate with their peers. My aim is to help them become independent, confident and comfortable with their surroundings and future employment . I thoroughly enjoy my days here.
June 2021 – January 2024 - part time.
BRIGHTENING LIVES – COMPLEX CARE EXPERTS - Personal Assistant, permanent nights every other weekend.
I care for a young lady with severe Cerebral Palsy. She is 36 years old and has an adapted wheelchair. I start my shift at 9.30pm, taking over from the nurses on duty. My responsibilities are to make sure that my client, is comfortable and happy and should she be in any discomfort, if I cannot alleviate it then I wake up the nurse. I do her observations and log these on the work ipad, I change her pads, give oral care, wash her. I am trained to use a hoist, though I have never needed to use it. It is a very limited role but a truly lovely one.
January 2014 to present day
TLC NANNY SERVICES – SELF EMPLOYMENT
I am a Self Employed Nanny to individual families. I provide emergency out of hours care and also working with parents to cover their 24 hour shift patterns. I generally help parents when shifts overlap, so starting work at 5am isn't unusual. Being independent, I tailor my clients' needs to suit them. I have worked for several children with special needs and work with all agencies to provide the best care. I try to be the best I can be, and to be as flexible with my time as possible. I always try to make even the most mundane tasks fun, and like to stretch everyone's imagination. I strive to let children find themselves and watch them flourish in the process. I am totally blessed in my role.
May 2012 - July 2014
Montessori Guisborough - volunteer
Montessori is all about child led learning, with this I joined in with all activities including painting, reading, helping individual groups with sets tasks. Making straw nests at a seconds notice as some of the children didn’t always find looking for birds very interesting, getting the children to help make puppet shows etc. Using set activities and turning them into completely different activities for some diversity. Generally just being imaginative in my setting. It was a truly fabulous experience and I was so lucky to have my placement here to allow me to progress with my level 3 childcare course. (children 3 - 5 years)
August 2011 – Kanuary 2014
Family in Stainton
My duties included preparing and planning healthy meals, and making age appropriate menus so they could help, bathing, reading with, and encouraging them to read and also write short stories for themselves, playing the most amazing games and making role play a massive part of the games, making their homework less tedious by making models and researching alternative theories, teaching the little one how to read and write, also simple spelling games whilst we were in the car etc doing the school run. Activities such as making pyramids from cardboard boxes and learning about the Pharaohs, going on nature trails in their garden and surrounding fields and tracking which was fabulous fun. Learning about the different types of homes that each animal makes, taking photographs and researching once we got back home. Learning simple sign language so that when the children got to boisterous to listen, I didn't have to raise my voice to be heard, as they understood and replied back in sign language which was lovely. We had regular talent competitions, singing, dancing and dressing up (myself included) also I used to pretend to be a waitress in a fancy restaurant, so that they could perfect their table manners and etiquette. I used different accents and mannerisms from around the world to make it fun. I helped with a small amount of children's washing and ironing. This job is extremely rewarding, I was always made to feel part of the family. (children 2 and 5 years old)

Mother/Housewife
I became the person I am today because of my wonderful son. We went on bike rides (even as a toddler) camping, climbing trees, making models out of everything and anything, discovering all that Mother Nature had to offer. We had picnics, read the most wonderful books and always had a houseful of his friends, as being an only child I did not want him to become spoilt, so I encouraged him to share everything he had with everyone. Being a Mother is the best adventure of my life.

I love walking (with and without my three pups), dog grooming, cycling, motor bike (just learning), swimming, playing my piano (just learning), sailing (just learning), gliding (just learning), reading, writing poetry, sewing, knitting - any craft, wood turning, and the odd boxing competition. We regularly take our three dogs to the airfield where they absolutely have a whale of a time, meeting and greeting everyone and of course running free and chasing the hares.
