Hi my name is Kelsie, I live with my partner and our dog in nuneaton. I have worked with children since I left college at the age of 17. Working with children, and being in childcare itself, I believe is very rewarding as you are watching individual children develop their, physical, emotional, social needs. In my opinion ,when working with and around children you need to have a 'fun but firm' attitude. I would consider myself to be trustworthy, reliable, honest, thoughtful and considerate.
My Experience
I have eight years childcare experience, five of these have been working as a nursery practitioner. During this role, I was responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children attending the children's setting. I was responsible for managing health and safety and data protection to ensure that policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. I also had the daily responsibility of creating planned activities by using the EYFS for my key children and the children within the room. I built strong and trusting partnerships with parents and external agencies. I made it my best interest each and every working day that the children in my care had the best start in life to reach their developmental milestones. I made it a priority to keep updated on policies within the nursery setting. I Occasionally cooked children's lunches when the nursery chef was on annual leave or off sick.
Currently i am working in a mainstream school as a 1:1 TA , I am currently responsible for the health and safety of the children within my class. I am responsible for creating daily activities for a autistic pupil. I assist in the implementation of the pupil's EHCP to help to monitor their progress.I Support the emotional, psychical, social and sensory needs of my 1:1 pupil, through a variety of planned activities.I prepare daily resources,i.e daily visual flashcards,for each lesson and each individual task so the pupil is settled and prepared for the moment of the day.

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counseling Skills.
