About Me
I am a compassionate and enthusiastic medical student who has a natural ability to connect with children. Whilst my experience as a nanny is not formal, personal qualities I uphold such as my bubbliness and warmness has enabled me to easily build relationships with children in a variety of scenarios. Being the oldest of 5 siblings has given me the opportunity to develop the motherly tendencies of nurture and care. This experience has also allowed for me to recognise the individuality of each child and how it is important to be adaptable to the specific needs of every child and take an approach that best suits them. My siblings have taught me patience and gentleness as well as how to be creative by turning everyday activities into fun.
What sets me apart is that throughout medical school, I have been given a variety of opportunities to work alongside experts in childcare such as paediatricians and general practitioners. They have taught me how to build rapports with children from all backgrounds and cultivate an environment in which they can feel safe and fully express themselves. These experiences have shaped my approach to childcare, ensuring that the child receives holistic care that supports their physical, emotional, and social development. My medical training has equipped me with a deeper understanding of child health and well-being, allowing me to provide attentive and informed care tailored to each child's individual needs.
My Experience
I have a varied background in childcare, having been actively involved in looking after my five younger siblings from infancy through their teenage years. This role has honed my skills in managing diverse needs, from preparing nutritious meals and helping with homework to organizing engaging activities and handling bedtime routines. As a medical student, I am trained in First Aid, which empowers me to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergencies, ensuring the children's safety at all times. My academic background has also provided me with a strong understanding of child health and development, enabling me to offer informed and attentive care. In addition to my familial experience, I have frequently cared for my friends' children, further expanding my ability to connect with and nurture kids from various backgrounds. I have also worked as a mentor at a summer school for children who were applying for medicine. Having to lead groups of children and keep them engaged for long durations whilst also ensuring they completed their tasks has further helped me to be a mentor/carer who can encourage children to ensure they perform to the best of their abilities. These experiences have instilled in me a profound appreciation for creating a secure, supportive, and stimulating environment where children can explore, learn, and grow.
