About Me

Hi, I’m Millie!

I’m a childcare professional based in Sidcup with over three years of experience working in a nursery, as well as experience as a childminder’s assistant, nanny and regular babysitter. Working with children is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love creating a safe, fun and caring environment where they feel happy and supported.
I have provided care for children all ages, from 8 months to 10 years old.

Through my nursery role and private childcare work, I’ve gained experience caring for children of different ages and supporting their development through play, activities and daily routines. I’ve also helped care for young children on a horse yard, which was such a lovely experience and taught me a lot about patience, responsibility and keeping children engaged outdoors.

Building trust with both children and parents is really important to me. I always aim to make children feel comfortable and confident, while giving parents peace of mind that their child is being well cared for.

I hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification, I’m first aid trained, fully DBS checked, and I have a full UK driving licence.

In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, reading, cooking and listening to music. I’m friendly, reliable and caring, and I always try to bring a positive and calm energy when looking after children.

My Experience

In my previous roles working in a nursery and with a childminder, my responsibilities included changing nappies, preparing meals and snacks, feeding children, and supporting potty training. I regularly planned fun and engaging activities to support children’s learning and development, including creative play, sensory activities, reading, and outdoor play. I also completed observations and assessments to track children’s development, carried out parent handovers at the end of the day, and supported rest and sleep routines.

I always follow safeguarding procedures and make sure children are in a safe, happy environment. I also support daily care routines such as getting children ready for naps, encouraging good hygiene, helping them develop independence, and providing emotional support and reassurance when needed.

When babysitting, my responsibilities have included preparing meals, feeding children, keeping them entertained with activities, games and crafts, bath time, changing nappies, supporting bedtime routines, brushing teeth, and settling children to sleep. I always keep parents updated while they are out and make sure the house is tidy before they return, helping with light household tasks such as washing up and tidying toys.

For around a year and a half I also helped with children at a local horse yard twice a week. My role was to make sure the children stayed safe while teaching them how to behave safely around the horses. I showed them how to groom the horses and help feed them, and supported them while they spent time around the animals. It was a really lovely experience that helped children build confidence, learn responsibility, and enjoy spending time outdoors.

I’m a very active person and enjoy taking children out to different activities such as soft play, baby groups, walks, trips to the park, and other local activities where they can socialise, explore and have fun.

Millie has been a great help to us over the last few months. She is kind, caring and keeps our 3 year old engaged for hours with her creativity. She makes sure that whilst she around she changes him should he require a change, without being told. She’s dependable, timely and has been flexible when it came to staying a bit later than originally requested.

Millie has been an absolutely wonderful babysitter/nanny for us. She is reliable, kind, and attentive, always making sure the children feel safe, happy, and engaged. Millie has a natural way with kids, my girls warmed up to her quickly and genuinely enjoy spending time with her. She’s responsible, communicates clearly, and handled their routine with ease from the beginning, which gives us complete peace of mind when we’re away. We couldn’t recommend Millie highly enough and feel very lucky to have her.
