Quality Childcare
Childminder in London
My Summary
A Nurturing Environment Supporting Children’s Confidence, Wellbeing And Learning
About Me
My name is Severine and I am an Ofsted registered childminder, providing a home-based childcare service in the Maida Hill area under the name Quality Childcare.
I offer a calm, nurturing and playful environment where children feel secure, valued and supported in their learning, care and development.
I have over 27 years’ experience in childcare, including 19 years as a childminder. I care for children aged from 5 months to 5 years, with a maximum of 6 children each day, allowing for small group care and strong attachments.
I work alongside my daughter Rochè, who is my registered childcare assistant. Together, we provide consistent, attentive and high-quality care.
Children have access to a welcoming, child-orientated playroom with a wide range of age-appropriate toys and resources. We also have a secure garden with two levels of play space, including a climbing frame with slide, playhouse, sand and water trays, mud kitchen, tricycles and more.
A separate room is available for sleep, equipped with cots and appropriate changing facilities, ensuring children’s comfort and privacy.
We regularly visit local outdoor spaces including Paddington Recreation Ground, Tamplin Mews Gardens and the Little Venice canal, supporting children’s physical development and exploration of the wider community.
My most recent Ofsted inspection (September 2022) was graded Good.
Parents are kept fully informed about their child’s day through my secure online system, Quality Childcare, which can be accessed via app or computer. Daily updates include meals, sleep, toileting and activities, along with photos and a detailed daily note.
Parents are encouraged to contribute to their child’s learning by sharing updates from home. By working in partnership and using starting points provided by families, I am able to support each child’s individual progress and development in line with the EYFS.
A settling-in period is offered to support a smooth transition into my setting. Children attend for short sessions across a week before their full start date, helping them to feel comfortable, secure and ready to begin.
My Experience
With extensive experience in early years childcare, I have worked in a range of nursery settings, progressing into senior roles including Room Supervisor, Baby Room Supervisor and Deputy Childcare Manager. This experience, alongside ongoing professional development, allows me to implement effective routines and meaningful activities that support children’s wellbeing and development across all age groups.
Over the years, I have cared for many children with a wide range of needs, personalities and abilities. I pride myself on creating a happy, engaging and supportive environment where every child feels valued and able to thrive.
My previous roles include:
• Sunshine Nursery, Maida Vale (now closed)
Nursery Nurse (1997–1998)
• Happy Child Nursery, Kilburn (now Busy Bees Nurseries)
Nursery Nurse (1998–1999)
Room Supervisor (1999–2001)
• Buffer Bear Day Nursery, Maida Vale (now Co-operative Nurseries)
Baby Room Supervisor (2001–2003)
Deputy Childcare Manager (2003–2004)
• Kingsgate Community Centre, Kilburn
Deputy Childcare Manager (2004–2005)
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2005, continuing to build on my experience by providing high-quality, home-based childcare.
I am supported by my daughter Rochè, my registered childcare assistant, who works alongside me daily. Rochè has a creative background, with a particular interest in crocheting and fashion. She is currently studying child development, further strengthening her knowledge and understanding of early years practice.
Together, we provide a consistent, caring and well-balanced approach to supporting children’s learning and development.

I accept payments through Tax-Free Childcare, Universal Credit, Student Finance and Childcare Vouchers.

I was without childcare for part of the summer holidays and after visiting the setting I turned to Severine and Roche for their help looking after my 17 month old.
It was always going to be a little tricky, as we weren’t able to do a traditional settling in period but they have been really patient and really looked after my little lad when he has been struggling. Although he had a hard time with separation anxiety during drop off and pick up - during the day he settled well and enjoyed the setting. The beautiful garden and lovely range of toys and activities provided a great place for him to make new friends and gain some new experiences.
I have to say the professional but compassionate approach Severine takes really puts your mind at ease. They are quick with their communications and updates, so as an anxious parent you really are put at ease.
The other children are so lovely and caring as well. It’s a great setting and I would highly recommend them. It’s a shame we only got 2 weeks with you but thank you so much for looking after my little one with such care.

Choosing Quality Childcare was the best decision I ever made for my son Leon.
He stayed with Severine and Roche until he was almost 3 years old. During that time, he blossomed into a happy, confident, and well-mannered little boy — thanks to the love, care, and outstanding childcare service provided.
The place is everything a parent could wish for: a beautiful garden filled with fun and games, toys for every age, and above all, a safe and nurturing environment where children feel truly loved and supported.
As an anxious first-time mom, the idea of leaving my 8-month-old baby in daycare was overwhelming. But choosing Severine was, without a doubt, the best decision I ever made for my child.
We had to return to France, and saying goodbye was incredibly difficult. Since then, I haven’t found a childcare provider that even comes close to what Severine and Che offered. They gave so much joy to my son — they became like a second family to him. We miss them deeply and think of them often.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Severine and Che. You’ll always hold a special place in our lives.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful review.
We’re all missing Leon dearly, he brought such joy to our days.
It’s been a real pleasure working with you both. Thank you for choosing us, for being incredibly supportive parents, and for the kindness and trust you’ve shown throughout.
Wishing you both, Leon & Louise all the best with your new beginnings.
Please keep in touch.
Warm regards,
Severine & Chè
Severine and Roche cared for our son from 14 months to 3 years old, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. This has been a wonderful experience. They are passionate about childcare, professional, reliable, kind to the children, and always dedicated to finding creative ways for the children to express themselves. At the end of each week, our son brought home all the artwork he had created, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and more, providing us with plenty of cherished memories.
They also provide healthy and balanced meals and snacks. Communication is excellent, with detailed daily reports and photos shared via an app.
Another aspect we really liked was the setup. It's really well organised our son loved playing with the other children in the garden and the playroom. We highly recommend them !

Thank you, Cecilia and Chris, for choosing me as your childcare provider. It has been a joy to care for Raphael and be a part of his developmental journey.
Raphael is already missed by his friends and us. We wish him all the best as he continues on his journey and look forward to his visits. Xx
My son was in the care of Severine and Valentine from the age of 6 months to 4 years old. I was very happy with the care they provided and most importantly very comfortable from early on. The setting is more like a mini Nursery than a childminder based on the resources and the activities provided, so I didn’t feel like my son missed out on not attending nursery. They are both lovely, open minded people who work with you to ensure your child’s needs are met. My son loved them and still always fondly of them both. Thank you Severine and Valentine!

Thank you Keisha for this review!
It has been a pleasure to care for your son for the past three years and I am please to still be part of his daily care by collecting him from school.
Caring for him has broaden our childcare skills as we provided activities and resources to meet each stage of his Early Learning Goals.
Thank you for choosing and continuing to have us as your childcare provider.
See you both in September xx
We found this setting on this website and it felt good straight away. During our first meeting we realized that Severine looked after my husbands sister when she was younger at a nearby nursery. We knew straight away that this was the place where we wanted our daughter to go to.
It is a wonderful setting and both Severine and Valentine are amazing carers and brilliant amongst all the children. They have a very relaxing atmosphere in the house and garden and there is always lots to explore, lunches are home cooked and it feels very natural.
The number of children at the setting was just right. My daughter learnt lots of social skills, but still got lots of attention.
Our daughter learnt so much whilst being in their care and still talks at home about Severine and Valentine. The daily notes and pictures on the online app were great for us as parents to know what her day has been like.
Our daughter has been in their care for about 18 months and sadly had to leave because we moved home. We cannot recommend them enough!

Your continued friendship over the past few months I cannot be more grateful for during a time which has been uncertain for us all.
Fiona's enthusiasm and determination to the activities we provided shall be dearly missed. As well as my cuddles and her talking about what she is doing!
It has been a pleasure and an achievement to care for another member of your family.
We wish you continued happiness and look forward to seeing you all soon xx
Severine and her mum Valentine are excellent. They have looked after my son for almost a year now (3 days a week) and he has enjoyed it from the get go. It is like a mini nursery, they do fun activities to help with development with lots of art and music making but also playing in the garden (a great space with lots to explore!). They have been excellent at keeping us updated on progress and sending daily notes and pictures/videos on how he is doing. It is a relaxed environment and the kids love playing together. I liked that it was mixed age group and not too many kids all at once especially since my son was starting quite young (from 5 months).

Please do keep in touch as we cant wait to meet the new baby xx
Severine and her mother run an excellent service, like a mini nursery. She updates info on the babydays app daily so I can see what he ate, how long he slept etc.
My son’s speech had been slightly delayed, partly being bilingual, and it has improved dramatically since being in their care.
He eats well with them, which was surprising, and comes back exhausted and happy.
Definitely recommend Quality Childcare

Many thanks Kate for leaving a review, especially while Jacob is still in our care. We are happy he has settled in well and that we are providing activities throughout his day that he enjoys. :)
My son Kairo attended this childcare and at first I was scared to leave him alone because he was attached to me but on his first day they greeted him with smiles and he was excited and was happy to go play with the other children . I enjoyed my son attending their childcare because I felt like they were taking good care of him and he settled in straight away so I felt comfortable. This is definitely a place I would recommend by far . Very understanding and helpful . Thank you so much Severine .. Paris

Our daughter, Daphne, began with Severine and Valentine when she was almost one and they have seen her through to two years wonderfully. There is the perfect mix of loving care and discipline and the nursery size means that all the children are well attended to. Whenever I go there, there is always a happy crowd of enthusiastic playful children. There is also a large back garden to play in with the usual playground amenities. Also Paddington Recreation Ground is just around the corner for daily excursions. The nursery also has a proper, professional oniine contract and billing service and reports on Daphne's progress are posted online every day. We are moving Daphne on, with sadness, only to make sure that Daphne has a good grounding in Danish, which is her mother's first language. We will all miss the team there.

Many thanks to you both George, for choosing to have your childcare place with us.
We shall miss Daphne very much and we wish her lots of success and enjoyment as she progresses with her Danish. :)
Our daughter was not even 5 months old when I went back to work so I did not want to send her to a busy nursery as I thought she was too young. Having a childminder was another option but I did not want our daughter to be too isolated either.
Then I found Severine and Valentine who offer this unique service which is a sort of a micro-nursery. It combines the personalised care which they can offer because of the small number of kids with the facilities of a nursery at a smaller scale thanks to the way they arranged the house with the ground floor being exclusively for kids, in addition to the garden at the back.
Our daughter is now 2,5 years old and we are leaving the country so sadly we have to say good bye to her friends and carers.
Severine and Valentine have been wonderful with her and a great support to me and her dad helping us weaning her as well as potty training her.
Most importantly they cared for her and taught her values and skills which any kids need in their development. For all these reasons, I will always be grateful for their support.
