About Me

Superpower activities
I can sing very well as I was trained for over a decade, so I could teach the kids how to sing and enjoy performing their favourite songs.

I am also a great chef and have been cooking for friends, family and children I have taken care of I enjoy having the kids join as it teaches them a very important life skill whilst Active learning.

My favourite childcare moments
A fun day alone I had with the girls was taking them to the beach in Ningbo (the city in China I lived in) We had ice cream, went for a swim built sandcastles and enjoyed a yummy dinner at the beachside restaurant.

When I was teaching in South Korea, I had a student who didn't want to open up or participate. She was angry and didn't try to make friends. Her mother also called me with concern, saying her daughter started to close herself up at home. I started to notice she wasn't completing tasks, hiding in the corner of the room and not participating in class activities. I noticed that the ways I was trying to help her weren't quite working, so I called up her mother and asked her if it was okay to hold her back for an hour before she went to her private tutor to maybe talk to her and help her revise her English. With this, she started to open up and talk, even in school with other students. I would talk to her, not only as a teacher but as a big sister as I'm not that much older than her (with the parent's knowledge of course) We talked about her mental health, her worries, the pressure she feels as the only child in her family etc. Learning so much about her and relating to how she feels internally helped me pick the route I would take to help her. How I wished something would help me when I was a teenager going through the same internal battles.

I’ve always been inspired to work with children because of the incredible joy I get from seeing their growth and development. Children’s natural curiosity and energy remind me to approach life with an open mind and creativity. I love the opportunity to make a positive impact, whether it’s helping them build confidence, learn new skills, or navigate their emotions. The challenge of adapting to each child’s unique needs and the rewarding feeling of being part of their learning journey is what truly fuels my passion for working with children. It’s a role that’s both fulfilling and inspiring, and it motivates me every day.

Story in a nutshell
I grew up in a single-parent household with just my sister, mother, Dog and I. I come from a very multicultural family so I enjoy embracing other cultures and traditions. My sister and I have a large age gap of 10 years so I felt like I had two mothers rather than a sister. I did not really have my mother or sister growing up due to them working for ends meet so I grew up alone. That's why I have a passion for working with children. I love the feeling of being someone of significance to them, someone who can help with their development and leave a lasting impact on them.

I am currently working as a freelance makeup artist as it is also one of my passions and dream jobs. In the future, I wish to attend a beauty academy in South Korea and earn my degree. I would also like to continue my work with children, hoping to get more into philanthropy.

My Experience

Over the past 4 years, I’ve had the joy of working as both a nanny and an English teacher, and each role has taught me something truly special. As a nanny, I’ve had the privilege of caring for children of all ages, from energetic toddlers to curious school-age kids. My days have been filled with laughter, learning, and moments of connection. Whether it was helping a little one tie their shoes for the first time or reading bedtime stories, I’ve always felt incredibly fulfilled in knowing that I played a part in their growth and development. I’ve learned how to create a balance of fun and structure, knowing when to be playful and when to provide a calm, comforting environment. Every family and every child has been unique, but the one thing that has remained constant is the importance of listening to and understanding each child’s individual needs.

In addition to my nannying experience, I’ve also spent time teaching English, which has added another layer to my ability to connect with children. I’ve worked with kids who were just beginning to learn the language, as well as those who needed extra help with grammar and vocabulary. Teaching English has been such a rewarding experience—seeing a child’s confidence grow as they begin to understand and speak a new language is incredibly fulfilling. I’ve always tried to make learning engaging and fun, using games, songs, and creative activities to help children pick up new words and expressions. It’s not just about teaching them the language—it’s about fostering a love for learning and building their confidence to express themselves.

Through both of these experiences, I’ve come to appreciate how important it is to create a nurturing and patient environment. Every child is different, and it’s a joy to tailor my approach to suit their unique personalities and needs. I’ve learned how to manage routines, handle challenging moments with patience, and celebrate the little victories along the way.
