About Me

Hi, I’m Lacey — I’m 27 and I am based in Portsmouth. I have a wealth of childcare experience, from nursery work, residential childcare, social care and child protection, and teaching support to working as an au pair abroad and now a private nanny here in the UK.

Before returning home in June 2021, I spent 18 months in Australia working as an Au Pair, caring for children of various ages and supporting busy families. Prior to that, I worked in a nursery for two years with children aged between 3 months and 5 years. I hold an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education, I’m paediatric first aid trained, a strong swimmer, and have a full enhanced DBS check.

Since coming back to the UK, I’ve spent over three years working in child protection and children’s social care for the government — experience that’s given me a deep understanding of safeguarding, emotional development, and family dynamics.

Since early 2025, I decided to embark on a career change and I’ve been working as a private nanny. I provide full-day care and also take on a range of housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and general household organisation for 3 regular families all with children between 8 months old and 14.

I’m positive, fun, and bubbly, but also mature, reliable, and caring. I genuinely love children and take pride in helping them grow, learn, and feel safe. I’m affectionate and hands-on as well as love being outdoors — happiest when playing, laughing, and exploring with little ones. I have a great sense of humour, I’m easy to get along with, and I strike a great balance between being flexible and keeping routines consistent. I also love cooking, baking, and animals, and I’m always happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
