About Me
Hi, I’m Lacey — I’m 27 and I am based in Portsmouth. I have a wealth of childcare experience, from nursery work, residential childcare, social care and child protection, and teaching support to working as an au pair abroad and now a private nanny here in the UK.
Before returning home in June 2021, I spent 18 months in Australia working as an Au Pair, caring for children of various ages and supporting busy families. Prior to that, I worked in a nursery for two years with children aged between 3 months and 5 years. I hold an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education, I’m paediatric first aid trained, a strong swimmer, and have a full enhanced DBS check.
Since coming back to the UK, I’ve spent over three years working in child protection and children’s social care for the government — experience that’s given me a deep understanding of safeguarding, emotional development, and family dynamics.
Since early 2025, I decided to embark on a career change and I’ve been working as a private nanny. I provide full-day care and also take on a range of housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and general household organisation for 3 regular families all with children between 8 months old and 14.
I’m positive, fun, and bubbly, but also mature, reliable, and caring. I genuinely love children and take pride in helping them grow, learn, and feel safe. I’m affectionate and hands-on as well as love being outdoors — happiest when playing, laughing, and exploring with little ones. I have a great sense of humour, I’m easy to get along with, and I strike a great balance between being flexible and keeping routines consistent. I also love cooking, baking, and animals, and I’m always happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
My Experience
I have experience working with a wide range of families and dynamics. Some parents I’ve supported have been very hands-on and just needed an extra pair of helping hands or occasional babysitting, while others have preferred me to take on a more independent, ‘motherly’ role. I’m confident in my abilities and comfortable caring for children of all ages and in all types of situations.
I hold an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education and am first aid trained. Before travelling to Australia, I worked in a daycare setting for two years, caring for children aged between 3 months and 5 years. I then spent 18 months in Australia as a live-in Au Pair for four different families caring for children ranging from 6 months to 12 years old. These roles involved everything from school runs and homework help to nursery routines, mealtime preparation, and bedtime.
As mentioned above, I have since been working in child protection and started private nannying in April 2025. I have 3 families that I nanny and babysit for regularly, all who have children between 8 months old and 14 years.
My Qualifications
I have a full enhanced DBS check. I have my paediatric first aid certificate and I have an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education. I do not have a driving license currently but I have my own car and I have been having lessons since the summer, I am just waiting patiently for my driving test in April!

Lacey was a dream to be around. We have had her baby sit and accompany us on a work trip over night. She instinctively knew when to take Albert from which was amazing. He loves her and we trust her. I would 100% recommend Lacey and happy to have a call to chat about it too.
