My Summary
About Me
Hello! I’m a dedicated and experienced primary school teacher with a passion for helping children thrive academically and emotionally. My journey in education began in 2019 as a teaching assistant, where I quickly discovered my love for working with children. That experience inspired me to pursue teaching, and I’ve since taught across a range of year groups including Reception, Year 2, Year 4, and Year 6.
I believe that every child learns differently, and one of my strengths is my ability to tailor my approach to suit individual needs. I’ve worked closely with children with SEND, including those with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), and I always aim to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every child feels safe and encouraged.
I have hands-on experience preparing children for key assessments, including the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and Year 6 SATs. I understand the pressures these can bring, both for children and parents, and I focus on building confidence, filling knowledge gaps, and developing strong foundations in English and Maths to help children feel prepared and empowered.
As a tutor, I take a personalised and collaborative approach. I begin by assessing your child’s current strengths and areas for development, and then work with you to set clear, realistic goals. Together, we’ll create a long-term or short-term plan that suits your child’s needs and supports their progress.
Outside the classroom, I have a genuine love for reading and writing-both of which influence my teaching style. I bring creativity and curiosity into every session, helping children not only build skills but also develop a lifelong love for learning.
If you’re looking for a tutor who is experienced, nurturing, and committed to helping your child reach their full potential, I’d love to support your family on that journey.
My Experience
I hold both a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), and have been working in education since 2019. I began my career as a teaching assistant, which sparked my love for supporting children’s learning and led me to train as a teacher. Since then, I’ve taught across multiple year groups including Reception, Year 2, Year 4, and Year 6, giving me a strong grasp of the full primary curriculum and how to support children through every stage of their development.
I have extensive experience preparing children for key assessments such as the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, the Year 4 Multiplications Check and Year 6 SATs. I also have a strong background in supporting children with SEND and EHCPs, using a personalised, adaptive approach to meet each child’s unique learning style and needs. I firmly believe that with the right support, every child can make progress and feel proud of their achievements.
My teaching is informed by regular assessment, allowing me to identify learning gaps and plan targeted, engaging lessons that build confidence and close those gaps effectively. I focus not just on academic progress, but also on creating a safe, encouraging environment where children feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
I value strong communication with families and work closely with parents to align goals, track progress, and celebrate successes. Whether your child needs help catching up, stretching further, or building confidence, I’m committed to supporting their learning journey every step of the way.
My Qualifications
I hold a BA in Criminology (2:2), followed by a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I also have 9 GCSEs ranging from A* to C, including core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. My qualifications have equipped me with both academic knowledge and practical teaching skills to support learners of all abilities.
