My Summary
About Me
I’m Jemima and I have a passion for baby sitting! I’m a really dedicated and passionate person, especially when it comes to working with children and maintaining a clean, positive environment. I’m very energetic and hands-on, and I love encouraging kids to engage in fun, creative activities instead of relying on screen time. I enjoy helping with things like arts and crafts, games that develop fine motor skills, and anything that sparks their imagination. I’m also more than happy to help children with their homework and schoolwork — I genuinely enjoy supporting their learning. I’ve studied Health and Social Care at GCSE level, where I focused on understanding children’s needs, development, and how to care for them safely and responsibly. On top of that, I’m passionate about cleaning and keeping things organised — I do a lot of cleaning at home and take pride in making spaces tidy and comfortable. I can also cook simple, child-friendly meals, always based on what parents approve. I’m reliable, nurturing, and always willing to help however I can!
My Experience
I’ve been babysitting my younger cousins for around eight years, and that’s where I discovered my love for caring for children. Over the years, I’ve gained a lot of experience with children of different ages, helping with everything from feeding and nappy changes to schoolwork and bedtime routines. I’ve learned how to stay calm and patient, even in stressful situations, and how to make children feel safe, supported, and entertained. Babysitting regularly has helped me build strong skills in responsibility, multitasking, and understanding children’s individual needs and personalities. It’s also made me realise how much I enjoy looking after kids and helping them grow — which is why I’m now looking to offer my help to more families in need of reliable, caring support.
My Qualifications
As part of my GCSEs, I studied Health and Social Care, where I gained a strong understanding of the different aspects of caring for children, including their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs. I learned about the importance of routines, safety, hygiene, and communication when working with children, and how to support their development in a positive and nurturing way. Through coursework and real-life case studies, I also explored topics such as safeguarding, equality and diversity, and the stages of child development — all of which gave me valuable knowledge that I can apply in a babysitting role. This subject helped me build both practical skills and a deeper awareness of how to meet the individual needs of children in my care.
