My Experience

I have a strong background in working with children and young people through my experience as a qualified teacher and student mentor. In my teaching roles, I planned and delivered lessons to diverse groups of students, which helped me develop excellent communication and patience—key skills for working with children of different ages and needs. I have also supported children’s learning and wellbeing by building positive relationships with them and their families.

Additionally, my mentoring experience involved providing one-on-one support and guidance, helping me understand individual needs and how to offer tailored care and encouragement. I’m confident in managing multiple responsibilities, staying organised, and creating a safe and engaging environment.

While my formal teaching experience was primarily with older children, I have always had a passion for supporting younger children’s development and am eager to apply my skills in a childcare setting. I am also comfortable managing schedules and routines, which is important for after-school care.

My Qualifications

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Social Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University, where I earned a Merit. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Salford. Alongside these, I have strong foundational qualifications including A-Levels in Sociology, Medical Science, and Health and Social Care, and GCSEs in key subjects like English and Maths.

My qualifications have given me a solid understanding of child development, education, and social care, which I believe are valuable for providing high-quality after-school childcare. Additionally, my academic background supports my ability to communicate effectively, stay organised, and adapt to different learning and care needs.
