Hi!
I'm Fran - a kind-hearted 24 year old who has recently completed a 2 year training course to become a French teacher. I took some time off work to travel around South East Asia, and now I'm looking for a job as a tutor/nanny. Having worked as a teacher I have loads of experience being a positive role model for children, and would be keen to help them thrive academically. Aside from that I'm a really creative and sporty person who loves being outdoors. I'm an extremely responsible individual although I take pleasure in being a child at heart which is why I love spending time with young people. I was brought up on the phrase 'only boring people get bored' and would have loads of suggestions for activities. I'm keen to engage with children away from screens - baking, arts and crafts, den building, reading, board games, sports activities and more...although I wouldn't say no to a game of Mario Kart or two:)
My Experience
Along with working as a French teacher I was an Academic Mentor (form tutor) to a class of 30. This involved teaching supplementary educational skills but also provided a chance for me to connect with them and become a supportive figure within their school life. Children who I taught often confided in me and it was apparent they felt safe and comfortable talking to me about any worries, or even wanted to tell me what they had achieved in school or exciting plans for the weekend! I don't have any official experience as a nanny but have always enjoyed looking after younger family members or family-guests; people often see me as a motherly figure, especially as I am kind-natured, gentle and caring but importantly, responsible. Punctuality, reliability, and willingness to work hard are values I hold highly and are consistently evident in my actions.
My Qualifications
BSc Geography
Postgraduate Diploma in Education - 2 years work experience as a French Teacher.
Level 1 Tennis Coaching Qualification & Experience Coaching Children
Volunteering to help Primary age children with further reading.
Prefect responsibilities - supporting children in a form group during form time.
