About Me

I am a mum to a very busy and creative boy who is now 9 years old. I did work as a Pastoral Assistant at an inner-city school with high need.

I work very well in a hardworking and caring supportive environment. Putting children at the centre of my work is incredibly important to me.

I have been very lucky to take steps in my career to develop my administration skills and that of working alongside children, parents and families.

Working at Just One Number was extremely rewarding and gave me over two years of intensive administrative training and experience. Whilst I was at JON I was able to work closely with the Health Visting Team, SaLT Team and the Mental Health Teams.

I have worked with children and families now for about 17 years. Through this time, I have grown in knowledge, confidence and understanding of children from birth and beyond. Through having my own child, I have learnt a great deal also.

I have a tremendous amount of understanding and calm for children and know that I can offer them the space and opportunity to succeed with the right support.

I am passionate about giving children the best opportunities to learn and develop. During my time as a Family Support Worker, I enjoyed running groups for children who struggled with their communication and language. Some of these children had SEN needs and some were from EAL families. I had a caseload of children where I would visit them at home to carry out a WellComm Assessment and then we would invite the families to attend a group at the children’s centre. This would enable that child to attend sessions where their speech and language could be supported and whereby families could get the support they required.

My main goal in my working career is to make a difference to those children who are struggling so that they can build on their own success and for them to become successful adults with a positive outlook.
