My Summary
About Me
Hello! I’m Alison — a warm, nurturing childcare professional with 16 years’ experience working with babies, toddlers and young children. After over a decade in primary education and several years supporting families, I’m returning to the hands-on childcare I truly love.
I specialise in baby and toddler care, creating a calm, secure and development-focused environment. I’m confident with routines, bottles, weaning, naps, sensory play, early learning and supporting those important milestones.
I’m currently completing my Paediatric First Aid (practical booked for January 2026) and will be applying for Care Inspectorate Wales Voluntary Nanny Approval. I’m looking to take on nanny families from mid January 2026.
If you’re looking for someone warm, reliable and experienced to care for your little one, I’d love to chat.
My Experience
I have 16 years of experience working with children aged 0–11, with a particular passion for babies and toddlers. I began my career in primary education, working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and wellbeing practitioner, before moving into family support work.
Throughout my career I have run a wide range of baby and toddler groups, including speech and language sessions, early number and reading groups, cook-along parent sessions, and a variety of play-based family engagement groups. I am also Forest School trained and have led outdoor learning sessions focused on exploration, sensory play and confidence-building in young children.
My background means I bring together childcare, education and emotional development experience. I’m confident supporting routines, bottles, naps, sleep cues, weaning, toileting and early learning. I naturally build warm, secure bonds with little ones and use a calm, responsive approach to help them feel safe and supported.
I have extensive safeguarding knowledge, experience supporting children with a range of needs, and a strong understanding of child development. I’m used to working independently in family homes and maintaining high standards of professionalism, communication and trust.
I’m now moving back into hands-on childcare because that’s where I feel happiest — supporting little ones to grow, thrive and feel secure.
