About Me
Hi, Im Anita, and I am a registered childminder. I am fully insured through NICMA and am trained in Paediatric First Aid, Health and Safety and Child Protection. I have 2 children of my own age 8 and 12.
I drop off abd lift from Harmony Hill Primary School.
I have a designated play room which has a wide selection of age appropriate games, toys, books, and arts and crafts. Having worked most of my children's lives, I understand that time spent with them in the evening with their parents is invaluable, so I am happy to assist the children I look after with their homework if you would prefer.
We get out and about when the weather permits to the local parks; for walks and maybe a visit to our local library. Usually we also have a visit to an icecream shop too! We have a lovely area called "the forest" right across the road from our house which is very popular with the children too! During holiday period we go further afield . Recent trips have taken us to Dublin Zoo, Xploris, Slieve Gullion to try to see if we could spit a fairy or a troll. We also try different soft play places like Funtastic and Happy Town. The cinema is also a popular trip. Sometimes when the weather is lousy we have a pj or slumber party rent a good dvd abd bed dywn on the sofas with popcorn. Bliss !!!
For a child I look after all day, we will go to places like Jumping Jacks, Rhythm and Rhyme in the library, toddler groups in the morning. We also get to the parks too!
I offer healthy snacks. I always have a wide variety of fruit, cheese and crackers, vegetable sticks, yogurt. and an odd chocolate biscuit is a wee treat! Water. milk and juice is available.
The important thing is we all have fun !!
My Experience
I have been registered since May 13 and have been childminding since June 13.
My Qualifications
Apart from raising 2 children of my own, I do not have any childcare qualification. I have worked in Sales Management for over 20 years, but gave that up due to the difficulty of getting my work/life balance right. I have not regretted my decision. I love doing what I do. I adore the children I look after and their hugs tell me they feel the same (so my Mums tell me)!!"
