About Me

I am hardworking, organised and reliable, good natured and have an easy and open manner. I work well as part of a team or on my own initiative and have always maintained a good working relationship with my employer's and fellow colleagues and have gained invaluable skills working with children 6 months up to 6 years old. I have found working with children is an especially rewarding and enjoyable career.

My Experience

Currently I work as a nanny in a nanny share with 2 families both with 2 children. My duties throughout the day's are as follows; getting dressed, ready for school, brushing teeth, school and nursery drop off and pick ups, going to playgroups, story times and other activities, going to the library, preparing and cooking nutritional meals and snacks, potty training, nappy changes, organising play dates, daily routines, bedtime routine, helping with homework, providing supervision and constant care to children.

Previously I have worked at a private day care nursery aged from 6 months to 5 years, where I studied and gained my NVQ3 in childcare. On a day to day basis my duties included preparing and supervising mealtimes, which included breakfast, lunch and teatime, supporting and ecouraging self care, i.e.personal hygiene, washing hands and face prior to mealtimes, and assist with potty training. Setting up daily activitities which aim to stimulate and encourage personal, social and emotional development, including self esteem and physical development during play with good communication skills to help the child understand and aim to achieve targets set. Part of my role as a key worker was my responsibilities is to maintain childrens profiles, observing and developing their individual skills, also working closely alongside parents where good communications skills are essential. On a quarterly basis I prepared and wrote progress reports for the children assigned to me, hold parents meetings where we discussed the next possible steps for their child/children and the targets they had achieved. As the Behaviour Management Co-ordinator for the nursery, I observed children's behaviour and work closely with the SENCO co-ordinator, giving help and advice to other collegues. On a daily basis, I gave feedback to parents to keep them updated with progress and development. When working for this nursary I had a good working relationship with colleagues and endeavoured to provide the best childcare service possible.
