About Me

I work Monday to Friday, I operate in my home from 7:30 to 18:30 and non domestic premises in a church hall
Wednesday Thursday Friday hours 9-3 in a child friendly church setting 5 minutes walk from my home. I use both settings for my service. more fun, change of environment, and visits from our friends from other childminders to come and play and meet others like you from different cultures and family backgrounds.

I have a genuine love of working with children, I live in the Katherine's area of Harlow my property has a large garden and a mini nursery building we use in a church for only a small number of early years children. I have a nursery book to communicate daily pictures and rewards with parents, I do termly updates of your child's development. I live with one of my children and the other when they come back from uni in the holidays. I have 35 years of experience working with different aged children. I am a hard worker, I am fun, enthusiastic, imaginative, honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I love working with children because I enjoy planning their activities and I enjoy meeting their needs. I accept the all 15 hour funding for 2,3, and 4 year old's and the extended 30 hour funding and any new funding. I also accept voucher schemes and Tax free.

I work on a non domestic premises 3 days a week with the younger children and it is so cozy, lovely, clean, carpeted, safe and very spacious, I currently have no assistants, when I have DBS checked assistants I make sure they have safeguarding training and first aid training, they also have child care development training. Assistants are recruited very thoroughly and I will only take on the very professional kind caring staff. Safeguarding is my number one above all things when it come to the children in my care. My home setting includes a spacious garden for the children to play and explore the natural environment and activities suitable for outdoor play that include growing plants, fruit, and vegetables, it is a child lead environment with an outdoor book that covers interesting outdoor activities. I have a good stock of interesting resources that are both educational and fun. The children can look forward to outings, playgroup, nature reserve, library, or pets corner and many more. I am a 1 minute walk to the swing park and open fields.

I have a level 3 qualification Diploma in Home Based Child Care and a lot of how I work comes from what I learned from there. I continue my training each year so I'm up to date. I help make settling in an easy experience for parents and the children by inviting them to the setting for play days and have had no problems with transition with a new child unless you have a child who is very sensitive, clingy and not had child care before then could take longer. I work in a relaxed caring friendly and fair manner, and model positive behaviors.

I have received excellent reviews from past and current families that have been with me for many years, they are available for new families to view as it is important to get the views from people already using my service, I am confident your little one will love coming.

Please message me for more information.

My Experience

I have over 30 years being in the profession of looking after children, I was a Play Leader in London for 5 years at a Church run after school Club, my role was to plan activities for a local group of children, to build their confidence and self-esteem, this was Spurgeon's Child Cares vision for children to have the best start in life.

I currently manage a Baby and Toddler Group in the Kings Church, Red Willow Katherines, CM19 5PA Harlow, every Thursday 10-1230 am. It is called Fizzy Totz Baby and Toddler Group Play and Stay for Lunch and is well attended, we have parent courses, group outings, and day trips for the family.

I am also currently a Kidz Club worker for Harlow at the Baptist Church in Old Harlow.

Connie has been looking after my 3 year old daughter now for over a year, when my daughter first started with connie she was the most nervous clingy child you could ever imagine, after only 1 day with connie my daughter was like a different child, she came home full of smiles and laughter and couldn't wait to go back to connie.
Since being with connie my daughter has flourished so much and grown into such an independent little girl full of wonder and joy.
Connie honestly puts her heart and soul into her job and I can hand on my heart say shes like a second mummy to my daughter now she really does care for her clients children like her own and goes above and beyond for her families she looks after.
Unlike mainstream pre schools connie teaches the children through days out , learning through play and really engaging with the children.
I've never seen such a hands on teacher.
If you haven't messaged connie I highly recommend you give her a call I promise you you wont regret it :)

Thank you so much for your kind words Samantha, I really do appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with my service, I feel extremely lucky to have met your family and your daughter is an absolute gem. Looking forward to our future working in partnership.

I have been extremely happy with the care of Igor has received, and the great progress he has made whilst in Connie care. Connie's home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and Igor has great fun playing with all the toys available. She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise. I know Igor has recently enjoyed sand and water play, drawing and sticking and everything what he's doing with Connie.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care Igor receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping him develop into a confident and self assured little boy.

I would absolutely recommend Connie as a great and reliable childminder.

Thank you very much for taking the time to do me a great review and I am glad that Igor likes to come to my setting, he is a delightful little boy who I enjoy having and I look forward to many more sessions with him.

Connie and I decided to meet so I could get the feel of where my daughter could potentially be. Must say it was a horrible encounter. Whilst visiting, I explained this was my first time using a childminder; I asked the provider questions and found she had a husband, so was asking questions relating to contact with my daughter and she became visibly annoyed- why? Also the provider refused to give me her Ofsted number saying I could use it for third parties; this was wholly offensive as I am not eligible for tax credits so this would have been for reasearch purposes only to help formulate my decision.
Overall not good at all. Why put yourself on here if you do not want parents to visit and ask questions? It would be ludicrous to leave my daughter anywhere without first building a relationship.

Response by Avatar for Connie Connie on 09/08/2017:

Dear Ashleigh, I invited you to my setting and encouraged you to bring a friend as likewise, I believe it is important that parents get a feel of who will be looking after their children.
Upon entering my setting with your friend, you seemed pleased with what you saw and stated that you felt you and I would get along well. You shared that you had found it difficult to secure a childminder who meets your needs. You expressed that others were simply not good enough for your child and you felt that one of these childminders had deliberately withheld information from you when you visited them.
Upon listing your requirements, it was felt that your needs were more suited to a nanny who you could employ and give instructions to rather than a registered childminder with an established routine and setting. I have been an Ofsted approved childminder for over 10 years and pride myself on the excellent care that I continue to provide for the children in my setting. I believe this is what prompted you to contact me in the first instance. I am rated an outstanding provider in ALL AREAS  by a professional body Ofsted who are the judges of a quality setting, I was judged on Effectiveness of the Leadership and Management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and most importantly outcomes for children with a fantastic report to go with it.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you the very best with securing a child care provider who can meet your needs.
Kind Regards
C. Robinson Ofsted Registered Child Care provider since 2007
