About Me
I am a self motivated, hard working and flexible person, who is capable of working independently as well as co-operatively as part of a team. As one of the long serving members of the nursery team, I was often responsible for training and supporting new nursery nurses with aspects such as safeguarding and creating an enabling environment for the children and parents. I enjoy meeting new people, and I thrive in challenging situations, where I can use my management skills and experience to resolve difficult matters, such as dealing with parent complaints and staff conflicts. I take responsibility for my own personal development by researching upcoming training courses and keeping abreast with current research and theory.
My Experience
I have gained a significant amount of experience whilst working in nursery settings . I started as a Room Leader working in the toddlers room. Later I became the Senior Nusrery Nurse and deputising in the manager's absence. I undertook the deputy manager's position and supported staff in the transition to other sites. I oversaw the development of a new nursery, being involved in the interview process for new staff and purchasing new resources. I managed this nursery for 12 months before taking on the position of Nursery Teacher. Addittionally , I have over nine years experience working in childcare , both in the private and public sector
I have experienced OFSTED inspections from different perspectives and I am aware of the procedures that need to take place in order to meet the welfare requirements set in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Furthermore, during my studies, the EYFS was at the centre of much of our group discussions and assignment briefs, which further developed my understanding of how the framework is used and how it enables a holistic approach to care and learning.
