About Me
I am a registered childminder with the care commission. I live in Crookston,Glasgow with my husband and my three wonderful children who are 17,15 and 9 l was a stay at home mum which had been the most joyful experience l could have imagined. l decided to become a childminder as l really enjoyed this experience and would like to continue to look after children on a daily basis giving them a safe, secure, nurturing environment in which to grow.
I am a very active person and enjoy being outdoors with children whether it be the local parks, museums or having fun at softplay. Activities are well planned and appropriate for each childs age and stage of development.
I have private enclosed garden for children to enjoy and plenty of toys and games for each age group. I have a dedicated playroom for the children where they can enjoy free play and structured activities.
Children's individual need's, likes and dislikes are taken into consideration and l provide an environment which nurtures, encourages and stimulates children.
My Experience
I have over 20 years experience of working with children of all ages. I have worked in a nursery in Glasgow with children aged 2-3 years old. l also worked with children in America within a summer camp for 2 years, caring for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. I then worked within a local authority children and family team in Glasgow before starting my own family.
I have 3 wonderful children of my own so l have very recent experience with young children. I have also worked within a school for children with additional needs and I spent time working in a lone parent project to help assist mothers with their newborn babies.
I have experience through childminding with children of a variety of age groups from school age children to babies.
My Qualifications
I have a GSVQ3 and a HNC in Social Care as well as a degree in Social Work. All three qualifications were focused on children and thier development.
I am registered as a food business operator. I have completed the infection Prevention and Control certificate. I am registered with the Scottish Childminding association. I have completed my baby and child first aid certificate through St Andrews Ambulance which l renew every 3 years.
I have completed several training courses such as Getting it right for every child to help keep my knowledge and understanding up to date.
I have recently been assessed by the Care Inspectorate and been awarded a grade 6 excellent and this can be viewed online.
My Availability
I am available monday to friday broadly between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Days and times can be negotiated as l understand the demands of flexiblilty for working parents.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £9.00 per hour
I charge an hourly rate of £5 per hour which includes healthy snacks, lunch and playgroup fees. Before and after school care is charged at £6 per hour. Other times and days can be negotiated if and when required.

I couldn't recommend Denise highly enough. My daughter, 5, has been with her for a year and has enjoyed every day she has been with Denise. Denise really helped her to build up her confidence as she is normally very shy. It was amazing how comfortable she felt with Denise so quickly.
Denise has a lovely, warm and gentle manner. She always has fun activities and days out planned. She gets to know each individual child and genuinely cares very much for them. Her own children are lovely too and a credit to her.
We are devastated to leave Denise, due to starting school out of the area. It has been a wonderful year. I've been able to work knowing that my daughter was having lots of fun and receiving excellent care.

Denise is a wonderful childminder and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for personalised childcare for their child. Denise is warm and welcoming who is reliable and professional at all times.
My son started with Denise when he was 11 months old and settled in very quickly. On collection he was always in an upbeat mood and I was secure in the knowledge that my son was in safe hands whilst I was at work. She would provide healthy snacks & lovely homemade lunches for my son and would always tell me when he tried any new foods and whether he liked them or not!
Denise ensured my son had access to outdoor play and would regularly take him to weekly local play groups and trips out to places such as the Science Centre.
My son is currently about to start nursery and won’t be cared for by Denise anymore however I know that he has benefitted from the fantastic childcare that Denise provided in his early years. We feel very fortunate to have found Denise and that our son experienced childcare in such a warm and homely environment by Denise and her family.

Overall
Denise is fantastic. She treated our daughter like her own from the very start. She is extremely kind, caring and fun and her home is very inviting.
Denise always checked if we were happy with an outing and we trusted her to look after our daughter when out and about. She helped reinforce lessons like crossing the road safely and if there was something we wanted our daughter to work on Denise would help. Our daughter always appreciated the trips out. They went to the library and the park when weather permitted.
They also did a lot of educational and fun stuff like baking, puzzles, art and play.
When picking up our daughter in the evening it sometimes took a bit of time to get out the door because she was reluctant to leave. We took this as a good sign and were happy she felt comfortable and safe there.
Going to Denise's house was a highlight and our daughter became firm friends with her children. Leaving the area, and Denise, was hard because we had someone we trusted absolutely and our daughter just adored her.
Denise is an excellent child minder and we would definitely recommend her. Our hope is that someone else's child will benefit from the care she provides.
