Hello I’m Tori
I am a mum of 2 and a nanny with 14 years childcare experience.
I left my full time nannying job of 4 years when I went on maternity leave with my first born who is now 7 and have been a stay home mum ever since.
I now home educate my own children and would now like to find a role with a family who is open to them coming along with me during any day time hours. Evenings and weekends without them.
I work with the exploring nature with children curriculum and would bring that in with your little one to learn and explore along with my own children.
I have a strong passion for letting children be free to express themselves while gently guiding them through life and I take a very gentle holistic approach to parenting. I also bring the same holistic approach with the children I take care of.
My holistic approach is based on
- getting out into nature and nature based activities
- autonomy
- freedom to be creative
- mindfulness
- positive reinforcements and connection (no naughty steps here)
Being on both sides of the fence, once a nanny and now a mum has given me an insight into life with children and the challenges that can bring so I feel like I can bring compassion, understanding and love into my role as a childcarer.
My Experience
I worked 2 years in a nursery setting whilst gaining my NVQ working with 3month-5years but was based in baby room and younger toddlers and occasionally covered in preschool.
I then became a sole charge nanny for 3 fantastic girls (all under 4 at the time) the oldest i looked after in the nursery setting and stayed with this family for 1.5 years. I worked very closely alongside mum and dad and other family members. Unfortunately i had to leave this role as mum decided to stay at home after having her youngest girl. I am still in regular contact with the family now and see them regularly.
I was then a sole charge nanny to 2 wonderful boys aged 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 years at the time and had been in this job role for almost 4 years. I had taken care of the youngest one since he was brought home from hospital in a small bundle :-) i have formed a strong bond with both the boys and also all family members. I still see the boys regularly and babysit for them from time to time.
I have various families who I regularly babysit for during evenings.
My Qualifications
NVQ level 3 in CCLD (childcare, learning and development) with TCC dedication to learning award
Safe + sound paediatric first aid certificate
Safeguarding level 1
DBS checked
Diploma in Child Psychology
Short course in Managing behaviour
Full UK driving licence
Currently working towards Creative mindfulness for children diploma
My Availability
I am available for part time positions nanny positions, ad hoc positions/ after school, emergency days if your current nanny is sick or on holiday or occasional evenings.
