The worst ever nanny experience. So I came to York for work for only 3 hours and needed someone to look after my boy. My son fell asleep earlier than normally on our way from the station so by the time we met Soozee he was asleep in all his outer clothes. I didn’t want to risk waking him up while undressing so I asked Soozee to stay with him outside as it was nice and sunny and +8. I provided her with the space to sit as well as the area to walk if she prefers to and asked just to relax, do whatever she wants to except talking on the phone so not to wake him up.
15 min later she texted me complaining that she is cold so I suggested that she walks close by without leaving too so I can see them far and then brought her a blanket out. I checked on them in the window and guess what she was doing? Talking on the phone next to the sleeping child!
1,5 hours later she came inside and said she cannot do it anymore so I said “thank you for your help, send me your bank details and I will transfer you money for 2 hours, good bye”.
Half an hour later she comes back to my work place with her partner (disturbing me once again from my work). This scary looking woman (her partner) starts to threaten and humiliate me reasoning it with the fact that she believes I still have to pay Soozee for 3 hours despite the fact that she refused the job - I agreed to pay for 3 hours straightaway (it is just extra £11 and I was really busy with work) but she kept going on and on. Then she started insisting that I have to apologize to Soozee (no idea what for as I was at all time polite and professional) that I did straightaway as I just was scared and wanted these people to leave. So after she finished and checked that she received the money they left. But half an hour later I received another message from them demanding another £3 “right away” - no idea what for as her rate on the app was £11 ph and I transferred £33. I did transfer these £3 as I was about to leave and didn’t want my colleagues to deal with these people If they return.
I am sure there are plenty of brilliant nannies in York so avoid this one by all means.

We contacted Soozee for a Saturday and Monday evening when on a trip to York. She requested the details of the bookings about 3-4 times even though they were in the body of the chat history.
She arrived late on the Saturday and then texted me after 2 hours advising that she needed to leave in an hour (something she hadn’t mentioned previously). She also texted me twice during our meal because my kid was chatty at bedtime. I checked with her the following day about Monday and she said she was still ok to do it, however she sent me a message on Monday morning cancelling.
She was nice enough and my kid liked her but she was very unreliable.

Hello Erica, I am really saddened by this but there is more than one aspect of your review that I find to be untrue and unfair.
I cannot apologise enough that I woke up feeling unwell today, meaning I could not babysit this evening for you. In my professional opinion it would not have been appropriate to spend time with your son while unwell, especially during the pandemic. To call me unreliable is simply not appropriate considering the circumstances. I notified you as soon as I felt I was unable to work for you (more than 6 hours prior).
Your comments regarding my communication are also unfair, as I simply wanted to ensure I had everything right and that there was no confusion regarding start times etc. As I said above, I communicated as far in advance as I possibly could.
I'm confused as to why you would put three stars for the setting, when you hired me to babysit your son in your hotel room?
You also said I was contacting you during dinner to say your son was chatty? This is shockingly untrue. I was simply giving you an update about your son, letting you know we were having a lovely time and he was a chatterbox. This was clearly not a complaint, rather a jovial and affectionate comment to let you know everything was fine. Something I always do, to reassure parents while they're away from their children. This was the first time that your son had ever met me, so I felt this was essential.
Your review is misleading and extremely damaging. This is the first negative feedback I have recieved in over 15 years. I take my job very seriously and kindly ask that you reword your review. Your inaccurate account could cost me future work, which is our sole income for myself and my family - including two young children.
I have never encountered such a strange situation during my 15+ years of nannying and babysitting, and would really like this resolved.
I would be ever so grateful if you could amend your review to reflect the truth and give a fair and accurate account.

Soozee is brilliant with my two boys - my youngest (who's two) can be shy and unsure about new people but the first time he met Soozee he was completely at ease. Now, whenever the doorbell goes, the boys shout Soozee and run to the window! She takes them on trips and they're always out of the house doing different things - Soozee is always happy to come up with places for them to go - from soft play to farms to playgroups.

Soozee's been looking after my son for over a year and he absolutely adores her. They have a great bond and he always talks about her on the days that they aren't together. She's fantastic at finding activities that he'll like and takes him to play groups and climbing. I love that they are always out and doing things rather than just sitting at home. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Soozee has been looking after my 2yo and 5yo for six months. They love her. She is great fun and does a variety of things with them.
Particularly good with my 2yo who can't yet talk. She has really helped seek out groups to help him along and gets involved with signing etc..
Really recommend her.

Soozee has been taking care of our 4 year old daughter for the last few months and we are delighted with the experience. Our daughter warmed to her straight away and is most often found in fits of laughter in her company; music, art and dancing is the way to our daughter's heart and Soozee got there immediately.
Soozee is reliable, professional and flexible. We definitely recommend her.
