About Me
After a varied career in Local Government, health promotion, Education and the voluntary sector, I lived in France for 8 years and spent 6 years in Paris tutoring privately in English to all ages of children in French and English.
Although my preference is for tutoring, I am fairly flexible if you have specific requirements for your child. I am also open to short term contracts further afield if some accommodation could be provided for work days. This might be helpful to cover holidays or if parents have to travel for work.
In this eventuality please note I have a small friendly Bichon Frisé dog.
I teach through a mixture of games, activities and formal teaching. I have a great rapport with children of all ages and often they hardly know that they are learning. It obviously works as I have had some very happy pupils and parents!
I also have experience of working with children with dyslexia and other learning/ reading difficulties.
I have had regular residential visits from French children learning immersive English.
I'm a mother of 3 grown-ups and have 3 grandchildren of varying ages.
My Experience
I am a qualified teacher and spent some years working in supply teaching for Stirling Council as well as 1 to 1 experience in France.
Several of my French families regularly send their children to me for residential English classes.
I like a challenge and some of my best successes are where children have extra difficulties in learning.
