About Me
My name is Becky and I am a mother to one 3 year old little boy. I have over a decades experience working with children from birth to 17 years and specialise in additional needs and safeguarding.
My Experience
Over the years I have held many positions in childcare, beginning my career in a nursery around 12 years ago. From there I moved into managerial roles within different nursery settings and whilst moving around different parts of the country found myself experiencing how social and geographical differences can have a big impact on the lives of our children. From nursery work I moved in to nannying and worked for a family of 6 for around 4 years as their nanny/housekeeper. When I relocated I began working in special needs nannying and gained experience in neuroplasticity, physical therapy, gastronomy feeding, speech and language therapy and epilepsy amongst other things. After having my own child in 2018 I realised I needed to reassess my future plans as I wanted to be able to dedicate more of my time to him and since then have become self employed and work as a provider of alternative education. My role is based in the most part, with primary aged children who are unable to attend mainstream education full time. I have a paediatric first aid qualification, safeguarding qualifications and a Certificate of Higher Education in Education Studies and Social Care amongst ensuring I keep up to date with relevant Continued Professional Development.
