Our little girl is 19 months and she has been with Kirsten and George for over 6 months now. They provide a welcoming and homely environment to the kids they care for and we couldn't be happier to have found them. Our daughter gets to go to parks, great toddler groups where she made friends, do baking and arts & crafts with Kirsten, listen to music and stories when they stay in. On occasion Kirsten & George's daughters also sing, play and read together with kids.
We get regular WhatsApp messages throughout the day about their routine and what they are up to and it greatly cheers me up while at work.
Kirsten and George have got lots of experience plus they have a lovely manner with kids and we were won over from the first visit. Their home is a safe and cosy place for kids to be, and our little girl loves going there and her wee pals.

I am very glad we chose them, they have been extremely patient with my son that has problems with sleep. They are really sweet and caring, my son was not used to other adults aside from my husband and I, and now completely forgets about us the minute the door opens.

Our wee one was with Kirsten & George for nearly two years, and I couldn't speak highly enough of them and their genuine care for our child. We had been keen to find a 'home from home' setting for him and it absolutely felt like that for us. It felt reassuring that while we were at work, our wee one was going to the park, doing crafts, going to play groups, having a fun day too, as if he was with family. We got lots of updates throughout the day and communication was always great. Our wee one misses them - we miss them!

Since the first day I contacted Kirsten and George I knew they were the ones for us. They put so much time and effort settling our little girl into their home (she did not make it easy on them) but as the week went on she got to know and love them to a point of closing the door on me in the morning so she could start her day without delay. We get updates during the day so we are still very much so involved in our daughters life even when we have to be at work. We haven’t availed of the babysitting service as of yet, but we plan to in the coming weeks. This just takes additional pressure off of us, trying to research other people for our daughter to get to know and that we feel comfortable enough leaving her with.
Kirsten and George had my nephew before they had my daughter, and I hope that they have my son when he’s ready to go.

We found Kirsten and George after looking for a childminder for a long time and having to send our wee boy to a nursery instead. He was very unhappy there but luckily K&G suddenly had availability and we were able to move him. The nursery had made him scared of strangers and very attached to us - but this was not a problem for Kirsten and George, who brought him back to his old self! Within a week of being with them he started running him by himself and not wanting to leave when we picked him up!
We love that K&G send us regular updates and photos throughout the day - it's so lovely to see our wee boy having fun and doing lots of activities while we are at work! Our boy loves his wee pals, the toddler groups, the trips to the park, etc. He also really loves getting cuddles from K&G's daughters - it really feels like he's spending time with extended family rather than in childcare! We could not recommend them enough, they were real life saviours for us.

We begun looking for a childminder or nursery around a year ago, and didn't have much luck. Desirable nurseries were either fully booked with a year or more waiting period or they didn't measure up to our requirements. We pursued childminders foremost, as, they would be able to offer the best care and not spread thin with staff to child ratios found in large nurseries. My partner found Kitz, and was immediately won over by the supremacy of her qualifications and reviews. It took a bit of back and forth as due to covid, things were a little uncertain to say the least. Eventually lockdowns eased and we met. Kirsten and George are such lovely and warm people, and with being offered a place, we couldn't have asked for a better match. They have a lovely home geared towards a safe and fun place for children to be. Their own kids are happy to help out and open their rooms to the children to come in, explore and play music with them. They go on daily walks to the parks, sing songs, enjoy storytelling and generally do things that little ones enjoy. Our little guy took very little time to settle in (despite the vast change incurred in his life experience to that point), and would mention their names and get excited on the journey over. If you are granted a spot to this childminder, you will not regret it. We are very blessed.

We are so happy our daughter spends her days with Kirsten ang George. She has such fun doing lots of activities, trips to the park, reading stories, arts and crafts. We are regularly updated throughout the day and K+G are very attentive with any changes in routine. It's a lovely setting in a caring family home. We would highly recommend.

We were understandably nervous about sending our little boy (9 months) to a childminder but need not have worried. He has settled so well with Kirsten and George and we are delighted we found them. They are so welcoming and caring and we really appreciate all that they do for our little fella. They provide a variety of activities to engage him and they keep us regularly updated on how he is doing throughout the day, which is great. He is so happy with them and so are we!

I couldn’t imagine anyone better to look after my little boy (who just turned 1). He is so happy and settled and it feels like we are dropping him off with family, despite him only attending for about a month. Our boy started with Kirsten and George as lockdown measures were eased and I think we were all anxious about how it would go, with him not being left with anyone but us since lockdown begun. I was so impressed by the extra measures they took to make sure everything was safe in line with new regulations and they made us feel so comfortable and reassured to leave our boy with them. He settled practically instantly and now I feel almost guilty picking him up to take him home, as he clearly he has the most fun there. I love how he gets the chance to mix with their older daughters and because they work together as a husband and wife team he really does get to be with another family and have all sorts of experiences he wouldn’t get just at home with us. The communication is brilliant, with them sending us photos throughout the day and he is a diary updating us on what he has been up to daily. It is so reassuring that he is happy and you get to feel a part of his day.

It has been a pleasure leaving our 9 month old daughter with Kirsten and George, they were brilliant in every aspect of caring and providing support, from small little detail to big things on day to day basis they were really involved in taking care of our little one. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for any childminder Edinburgh.
