My Summary

My Experience

I have done 770 hours of work experience in different placements for my cache childcare level 3 course at sixth form. These settings followed the EYFS curriculum so I planned and delivered activities in these areas and also joined in with ones the practitioners had planned:
•communication and language.
•physical development.
•personal, social and emotional development.
•literacy.
•mathematics.
•understanding the world.
•expressive arts and design.

• First year of sixth form-For my first year I went to a nursery two days a week and this has helped me to gain new skills in working with other people and children and seeing things from another perspective. While I was there I gained skills such as good time keeping, good communication skills and I think that I gained confidence after doing this. I also think that I learned how to work well as a team with other people because we had to work together to make sure all the children were happy and having a good time, we also had to make sure everything was kept tidy and at the end of the day everything was in the right place.
• Second year of sixth form -For my second year I went to two different placements one of them I worked with babies and the other was a school and I think that I have gained lots of important skills from this like changing my approach to problems depending on which setting I was in because the children were at different ages. I have learned things like how to work well with other practitioners and I have learned more about the EYFS framework and how they implement it in schools. Throughout the two years I have also learned good time keeping skills because I had to make sure I did all the hours but managed to get my school work finished as well. I have also gained more confident in my abilities when doing things around the setting.

I also have experience with working with older children because I have helped with 6th form taster sessions for the year 11’s and helped out at the science STEM evening which was for children in primary school years 4/5/6 and I have helped out at the year 6 transition days.

I have spent the past summer working at an overnight children's camp in America. It was an amazing experience and I ran many different activities through out the summer.

I am now currently a nursery practitioner
