About Me
I am a warm and friendly person, with a great sense of fun. I am a qualified teacher, a mother of two grown up boys and a wife to another teacher! We are relocating to Hexham to support my elderly mother in law and it is a chance for me to have a change from teaching and go back to where I started my career where I was very happy, as a nanny. I am hardworking and committed to giving children lots of creative and exciting first hand experiences. I value the importance of a following good daily routine but also having space for flexibility! I encourage children to express and value themselves and become the very best they can be. I am an Emotional literacy specialist at school and this underpins a lot of my pedagogy as a practitioner. I like being outdoors, walking, exploring and just appreciating and being in nature. I am a huge advocate for instilling children a love of the outdoors, it is so healthy . I am an avid reader and enjoy sharing literature with children, taking them the the library, making story sacks etc. At school I am a reading intervention teacher with a sound phonics knowledge. I can support your children with their early reading skills. I love running a home and can cook, sew, clean and iron!
My Experience
I am a primary school teacher with 20 years of experience, particularly in Early Years.
I have experience of being a live in nanny/ housekeeper to four different families of young children earlier in my career.
I can also draw on my own experience of parenting my two children and supporting then with SEN ( high functioning autism)
My Qualifications
I have a BEd Honours degree from Cambridge University
Qualifications in ELKLAN , ( Development of early language and communication), Reading intervention teacher, phonics specialist, Outdoor Learning leader, up to date paediatric first aider, DBS, and clean driving license.
My Availability
My current position requires four weeks notice. However I may need some time to relocate. I am able to work full time during the week days and would ideally like to have the same the same school holidays off as my husband, however am willing to be flexible.
